You know it's funny...when they dropped to $100, people were saying that they should be $90. When they dropped to $90, people said they should be $75. When they dropped to $75, people said they should be $60.
It seems like every time the price drops, it just doesn't drop enough. The number one reason these "should be cheaper" is because "NVMe drives are cheaper or the same price, and NVMe is better than this".
The reason these aren't cheaper is because this is generally the second highest rated 2.5" SSD behind the EVO 870/860. One of the single best performance upgrades for legacy systems that cannot use NVMes. What else are legacy systems going to do? Use an adapter that cannot easily be installed internally?

Seems like normal price. Or is it a few dollars off? The 2TB version was $91 for the longest time. I'll definitely wait for lower prices. I just don't need an SSD until it becomes irresistible.

I keep waiting for the 2TB to drop to the ≈$70 range again so I can have a match for the one I bought at that price (limit 1).
I didn't think it would take this long (or I would have created a different account or whatever to get around the limit) but here we are…
How little dram does this have nowadays? I bought a bunch of new WD Blue 2TB SA510 2.5" on eBay for $48 each way back in June, much better than this deal obviously.

All them hooptie Thinkpads keeping the SATA market alive
The companies are still wasting their time making 128/256 models. The entire production line needs to be trimmed. 1tb & 2tb models. No one is going to buy the smaller models anymore as their utility is limited. CoD update yesterday took 100gb. Time for manufactures to stop wasting the same material to make these smaller storage drives. $35-$40 & $70-$80 for the 2tb.
The 4tb version is about $200 right now. ($219.99 and $20.50 coupon). Already have one I haven't used much. Thinking of grabbing a second one and using it to run raid 1 on my main pc. The old wd reds I've had for like 8 years are just a tad slow nowadays lol.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but... you just missed it.

What he said ... I have two currently operating as my C / Windows drive on two desktops and when you include the one I turned into a gaming drive for the third desktop that used to be the windows drive for that desktop, all three have served faithfully as a Windows drive for years without any problems or issues ...
... bought five more of them since the price dropped , three as a secondary 1 TB drive for laptops that already have an m2 drive for Windows , one to upgrade the existing 250 GB crucial MX 500 drive to a new 1 TB size (kept the old 250 GB drive for a gaming drive, son's desktop) and have yet to install the extra 1 TB crucial MX 500 drive on top of the 1 TB crucial MX500 drive I already have in my desktop .. at this price and given the quality of the drives I guess I just wanted to stock up before the price goes up again or they retire the drives completely one of the two....
I should point out I was lucky to snag three samsung 970 evo plus 1 TB m2 drives back when they were $50 each, one is in use as my daughter's new desktop C/windows drive for Win 11 and working great.. the other two are sitting "idle" in two other desktop PC's but will become Win 11 C/Windows drives when I get around to installing Win 11 on the two other desktops.
