Ladders capacities are 4 times what they say, so a 225 ladder is really 900 pounds. Ladder manufactures do this to cover their asses.

Big box stores have a 90 day return policy. So worst case scenario you can "return" it and repurchase. Again, make sure you keep the receipt! HD has a policy where no receipt return gets store credit for the lowest selling price of the product

For home maybe, cant use these ladders in a commercial environment in several cities, because it wasnt enough. Has to be IA or IAA rated.

I'm 215lb wearing boots and heavy clothes, hardly out of the norm for men my age, especially at my height. A drill with big battery plus 5lbs of other tools or materials puts me at the weight limit. Just me and a full paint can does too.

If you can't make the 225 lb at weight in before climbing the ladder, do what they do at Boxing and MMA ....... remove clothing until you pass before climbing up...
