This one will give you 7-10 days if you dont use all its features always on.
GW6 probably 1 day max. But they are 2 completely different types of watches..
This one is not really smart, is more like g-shock watch + activities tracker + gps. No touch screen, no apps, no mic, but has music control i think.. It is rugged though.

150$ is good price, close to its real value..
Not solar, but its kinda useless anyway, you need to be outdoors for 10 hours a day to charge it 15% or so, according to some youtube reviews.

I think there's something wrong with yours. I regularly get 3-4 weeks in only smartwatch mode. This will go way down with pulse ox or GPS on, though. It sounds like you might have the Gen 1 instinct?

Nice. Bought one. Online only right? Going to compare against the Galaxy Watch 6 and return 1. Looking forward to longer battery life.

This is a solid deal. You get the V4 sensor array for only $150. Only some of the newest models have V5.

See Garmin deals on here all the time, but they are often older models with older sensors.

I'd get one but already have a 255

highly dependent on your settings.

On my 255, I have GPS, BT, and smartwatch features all off. I bought the watch for tracking heart rate, pulse OX, sleep and workouts. I have sensors set to check every second and I get 6 days between charges.

Now that's with no training (unfortunately, it's been way too long since I've worked out consistently). But obviously logging workouts with GPS everyday will shorten that battery life. Garmin is the only choice for me. I don't want to deal with charging my watch daily while also wanting it to track my sleep.

Thanks. I'm jumping on this to replace my Instinct 1 Solar which has started randomly turning off!

The added new features of cycling power meter support and training readiness/status updates should make it integrate into the Garmin ecosystem a little better.

I was planning on going for the Forerunner 265 but at this price, the Instinct 2 serves all my needs.

For people who own either. The 2 or 2X? I know that the 2X has a bigger screen, battery, flashlight, and solar but are all these features worth the extra cost? This is my first Garmin. Jumping ship from a Galaxy Watch since I don't use the smart phone features all that much and would really like the good battery life.

I don't have this model but this is a nice deal. It's a MIP display so it's always on but low power vs amoled. But unlike amoled it requires a backlight in low/no light situations.

All that being said the secret I have found to long battery life is turn off pulse ox and limit your notifications. Doing these two things on my epix with flip to wake since it's an amoled screenn, I get 12 to 15 days when the advertised is 14 days. This included workouts (some with gps).

My Instinct Solar started randomly to shut down, just after an update a couple months ago. The update was forced, not optional. I unfortunately, lost confidence in Garmin. Indeed, for up to $150 price this might be an OK purchase, but I don't consider it a great deal if assuming that eventually the watch will stop working. Consider it $150 cost up to the warranty expiration.
As someone said, you can get more reliability and better battery life on a solar Gshock - I have Casio watches over 15 year old, they all work as they did on day one. The Solar Gshock works eternally.

The Instinct 2X has the newer multi-band GPS chip, whereas the Instinct 2 has the Sony GPS chip which everyone hated. Check out dcrainmaker's reviews for comparison.

It will never last a month.
I bought this watch couple month ago, brand new, set it up from the box using all default settings, and then just let it sit on a desk. did not even wear it. It lasted 10 days.
If you wear it, it looses 15% per day with no bt, gps or oxy meter.
this is my 3rd garmin watch and they all last maximum of 30% of promised "up to xxx days" life. maybe they mean up to xx days in power saving mode where you can't even see seconds, only hours and minutes. but in this case i can buy gshock solar that will run forever with even more features...
