people laugh on why i keep buying dvd's and bluray but truth is you should never solely rely on streaming!
same reason you should have at least 2 tv antennas around the house! if your internet is down for a week you need to learn how to survive and not turn into a southpark episode searching for "internets".

Just a heads up "The consumer-electronics retailer will phase out sales of DVDs and Blu-ray discs both in-store and online in early 2024, according to industry sources familiar with the company's plans. Best Buy made the initial decision to end DVD sales nine months ago, according to one source."

Here is hoping they have major discounts on everything (particularly Steelbooks) whenever that happens.

Streaming providers use lossy compression to save bandwidth.
Although some are starting to use AV1 compression which allows smaller files while retaining more detail. Sadly, most still use h.264 for compatibility and it will probably be quite a while (if ever) before those get redone as AV1 or even h.265.

TBH I wouldn't have taken a gamble at that price, but at the $78 I got it for it was well worth it. Mine has been flawless thus far and 4k blu rays (whether in DV or HDR) look amazing!
I agree I wouldn't either even at $78.

I'll stick to Panny's Optimizer & HCX processor, what separates it from everyone else.

After seeing the deal for the Panasonic 820 for $347 at ABT I decided to go ahead and bite. I was able to get an extra $25 off for signing up for their newsletter which brought the price down to $322.99 (which is barely over the all time low of $319.99). I had wanted one of these for a while but wasn't willing to spend $500 on it. The Sony will get moved to the bedroom once it arrives. I was able to get it for $346.48 total including tax. Now that's a true SlickDeal!!

Why do you need 2 antennas? I have one in the attic and share it with 4 different rooms.

...and yes, I've had my internet go down for 3 days during an ice storm...couldn't even get out of the house to do something different because it was too dangerous. Glad I had my physical media and antenna. Only so much reading you can do before you get eye strain.

Today is 11/13 (EDIT - I see you now removed the 11/13 start date) and the deals did not materialize.
For instance, '300' (first movie on your list) is still $29.99.
I saw this as well. None of them are on sale. Did the date change?

Guess your info was bogus, today's the day those prices were supposed to take effect and now I see your post is "expired" and the prices are still the same

I counting on Best Buy to get rid of their BLU RAY collection before 2024. But guess will have to wait until official BF hits.
