Recommend hardwiring or ponying up for a good outlet (Hubbell 9450a for example). I've melted 2 leviton or similar from Home Depot.
Can you give some good examples?
Smoking deal on a UL certified charger capable of plug in, or hardwire for full 48a charging. I've had mine since this time last year, and it's been great. Can fully charge my Bolt in about 6 hours at 11.5kW. Smart features are nice to (for me, just basically helps me keep accurate track of how much energy is actually going into my vehicle so I can tell how much $$$ I am saving over gas, by month, day, or year).

Someone mentioned eBay, but curious about which ones are for sale new that do 48A and are UL certified so as not to fry out your shiny new car's electrical system…

Thanks for the heads up. Been eyeing this as my electric company has a $250 rebate on this charger too. Will make it $50 plus tax.

Only concern is that it's sold by Woot and not Amazon. Hope that doesn't cancel the rebate out.

Great deal without any additional rebates required

I think this is cheapest I have seen on SD for an EV charger that's reputable and not requiring local incentives through utility company or so

Probably not certified by any legit authority (UL, ETL etc.). This is an item you don't want to take that risk on. Best case scenario it fries your EV, worst case it burns your house down…

Have had mine for almost a year. The only issue, and it's only a minor annoyance, is that I get notified when the vehicle is finished charging nearly a dozen times within a few seconds each time it finishes. I haven't looked at all into it, so it might be something easy to fix, and could very well be due to the vehicle itself.

I wouldn't hesitate to get this again.

I've had this charger for nearly a year. I use it in place of the OEM travel charger for my Mach E. It works excellent, no issues to speak of. I'm pretty hands off regarding data collection or checking on charging status or level, but the app shows roughly 11.2kw when charging, and gives a rough estimate of the cost. There are a ton of charging and scheduling related features, but the car also has these so I don't use most of what the Emporia app offers. Great deal if you're in the market for one.
