Anyone have experience with this laptop? I'm comparing to the Costco $1000 HP Victus. Costco has more ram and storage. This has a better screen, battery and GPU.
Thought on which one is best now and future (3-5 years).

You can upgrade RAM and storage if you need to do so. You can't upgrade the GPU or screen of either of these laptops.

As long as "full warranty" is true....I guess this is a good deal.

Holy crap 140w full 4070. That 4070 is basically the desktop version (almost, this is the closest gpus have gotten to being the same as the pc desktop version)

HP Victus 16.1" Gaming Laptop - 13th Gen Intel Core i7-13700HX - GeForce RTX 4060 - 144HZ 1080p - Windows 11, 32GB, 1TB... $999.

Another bonus for the HP is a much faster CPU. Battery life seems to suck with the HX processors though.

It's the display that makes this a no-go for me. Absolutely bottom of the barrel, and I only use the laptop display so it needs to be good. Victus is also a budget model,

Agree I purchased this and will return the Costco. I bought the Costco early but didn't open it waiting for a better deal. This will be my new baseline and wait to see if a better deal comes along. I found a thorough and really long review of this. The speakers on this is crap but I'm not too worried about that.

Screens can be upgraded, but that is a more advanced upgrade. Modern laptop bezels also tend to be secured with adhesive instead of screws, so that's part of making it more advanced.

This isn't like the 4070 desktop chip at all. Also, it maxes out at ~100W regardless of the 140W specs.

There's a good review here: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Ace...387.0.html

Noticed it has USBC charging which is nice.

Also if you buy from Walmart it says returns until Jan 31, and returnable to store.

So is this a nice decent "budget " gaming all around laptop? Need one to do some heavier windows based applications and a little modern gaming.
