There are a lot of people that I know are looking for a 3 qt because sometimes 6 qt or 8 qt is too big. This size fits well when you are cooking fresh everyday for 2-3 people and you are not trying to cook a large portion to last for multiple days. We are a family of 4 we use this a lot more than 6 qt.

If I'm not mistaken this is also low enough wattage to be used off grid IE inverters batteries portable travel

I bought a 3qt for a trailer specifically because it has a sink that's too small to fit a 6qt liner. Also, I've never filled the 6qt more than half full for 2 people.

I agree, we are family of four. We have been using 3quarts one on the regularly while 6 quarts one is lying in the garage.

We are a family of 4 that needed to upgrade from a 6 qt to an 8 qt. It really depends on what your family likes to cook. Just be aware that this is 3 qt and think about the other pots and pans in your house, what you want to cook, and if this is going to be the right size for you.

I was going to buy 6qt Instant Pot or pressure cooker for my son and live-in GF for Christmas, but do you think 3qt is better for couple with a newborn baby? I have 6qt Instant pot which I am very happy with it for my original family of 5 (currently, I use it to cook for 3 people). My budget is $50 - $60. I was originally thinking about purchasing 6qt Instant pot from Target if they have $60 deal again for Black Friday. I am not brand loyal, so it doesn't have to be Instant Pot as long as it has good reviews and also has stainless steel bowl inside.

For those wondering if this is too small - it could be. But it's good to note that there have been multiple opportunities to get the 6 quart at a significant discount (including at $50) almost every year, but the 3 quart has only been sold at this price a couple of times in the past. Which speaks to the demand for it. In my opinion, this is perfect for 2-3 people.
