I just traded my COD code for a $50 PS5 gift card on redddit. I'd bet you could do the same deal with someone because there are going to be a lot of COD codes floating around.
Where on reddit are you trading? Would love to find alternate way off trading and selling besides eBay/Facebook market

Doing some mathing. Paid about 540$ total 2 years ago for my PS5. So to get the same system with no real upgrades is another 150$. so paying just about 700$ for a PS5. Doesn't sound like a great deal
540-457+25=108 if you have to buy pro again. Am I missing something? Edit never mind I figured it out. Yeah not a very good deal even if you sell the code for for 50.

You signed up in store and couldn't use the 10 even though it was there? What was their excuse?
The $10 is in rewards points, you use it to redeem for the certificate. Meanwhile the $5 reward begins the following month

You wouldn't get anything extra from GameStop. I haven't checked to see what they are going for on eBay but I doubt it's much of a premium considering the console hasn't been blown up yet. The darn bug bounty program they run seems to have really kept a lid on it this go round. I do have an early model sitting in my bedroom still boxed up and sealed just waiting on the PS5 to be broken whilst I game on my main PS5 😁

So you chose to NOT have a PS5 at all then for the time being? A little temporary rest?
Nah, actually I have 2 PS5 consoles. Just bought the second one when I was on a biz trip overseas for 6 months this year. It is a Japanese version. The one I traded-in is the one I bought off Offer Up during the pandemic for $850, LOL

It's not too bad if you got the launch PS5's(v1)

To my knowledge, those are the ones with 7nm chips. Slim and v2 have 6 nm chips. Usually, that means better thermals, performance, and power efficiency.

Also, 1tb vs 825. That's like 1 game extra nowadays 😄

I got a launch PS5 and am thinking about doing this. My tv stand , barely fits my PS5, so I might appreciate that extra room. Also, I occasionally like to take my PS5 on trips or into another room, so the slim works for me.

One thing I have been wondering is how or if GameStop addresses upgrades made to the PS5. For example, I've got a 2tb SSD added in mine. Would GameStop give me more for the console or would I just take a total hit on that? Frankly, I'm not very interested in trading mine in as I've taken good care of it and like the console but I have wondered how that would be handled.

I just bought a bag a week back for transporting my PS5 back and forth from work. At my 2nd job, I sit and game for as long as I can stay awake so I'm transporting it 5 or 6 days a week so I really needed to find something. I'd upload a pic if SD supported it. It sure has made transporting it much easier and cleaner.

From what I understand, it's a marginal upgrade, smaller console, smaller components, it may run cooler but do not quote me on that.

There is one drawback that may deter some people, the disk drive is detachable and you can buy a new drive if yours fails. However you need an Internet connection to verify the drive before you can use it. Could cause issues down the road, long after this gen is over.
It's also louder. Louder fans, *much* louder disc drive. The only acoustic advantage appears to be lower coil whine due to lower power consumption.

The PS5 slim is actually the 4th revision. The first 3 versions all look the same. Each version since the first they have removed more and more of the cooling system. People are reporting overheating with the slim. It's just a matter of time until we have chips delaminating and dead consoles.

The slim only includes one slight upgrade. 1GB of storage instead of the 880MB that was in the first 3 versions. I see this as a step backwards. The huge accomplishment was Sony building a great roomy console that wouldn't thermal throttle. Remember all the reviews and how impressed they were.
Is this true

So the slim is worse
