sticking to AirPods, a reddit review:
I can't think of one way in which the XM5s are better than the Airpods Pro 2.
ANC: Worse (because the passive isolation is doing most of the work, not the ANC)
Transparency: Much worse
Price: Much more expensive
Sound quality: Both good
Comfort: Worse (for me)
Thuds when running: Much worse
Control system: Much worse (four taps to change volume!)
and he aint mentioning the service from Sony, referring to the other replies...

A little more expensive initially but these batteries go bad and software updates stop on older models.
If a battery does go bad and you replace it with the same model ive had some best buys pro-rate the warranty into the next warranty meaning however many months are left, they take a % off of adding another warranty. .

I wanted to love these so bad but bc of the fit I had to return them and keep using my AirPods.
I haven't decided if I will get these of the Bose when my XM4s do go but for now definitely happy with the $120 I paid for them.

It does seem like they are finishing up production on the XM4s so they are just refunding people if XM4 replacements aren't available. Still, can't hurt to reach out to Sony at this point and I definitely support a company who will honor a warranty past expiration. I couldn't even get Google to honor a warranty for a product after I sent them a video! Ridiculous.

Do you know what any of that means? The XM5s support bitrate of 990kbps while Airpods Pro 2 support bitrate of 320kbps.
