I use to be a big fan of Sony until
They hide charging firmware issues and try to avoid massive recalls

I wanted to love these so bad but bc of the fit I had to return them and keep using my AirPods.
Do you know if they fixed it in the subsequent firmware updates?
I bought the battery replacement kit and replaced left one but might have to do the right one too..

sticking to AirPods, a reddit review:
I can't think of one way in which the XM5s are better than the Airpods Pro 2.
ANC: Worse (because the passive isolation is doing most of the work, not the ANC)
Transparency: Much worse
Price: Much more expensive
Sound quality: Both good
Comfort: Worse (for me)
Thuds when running: Much worse
Control system: Much worse (four taps to change volume!)
and he aint mentioning the service from Sony, referring to the other replies...

How is the return policy with buydig? Can you send back if they don't fit well?
I bought these when they came out for the $300 and ended up returning them. Hated the glossy finish. Didn't really care for the foam tips and when I put silicone tips on them they constantly moved around in my ears. I ended up deciding to go with the AirPod Pro gen 2.

That's where I jump off the bi-yearly upgrade train until they improve sound quality again. I could care less about the size, the giant XM3 were fine size-wise for me.
If they ARE out of warranty but you bought them from Sony/Amazon new, contact them for a warranty. They may initially deny, but ask for an escalation and someone should call you back and will likely approve a replacement or repair.
