Also available at Target, Best Buy and other electronic stores at the same price. A great unit because it is dual band Wi-Fi and you don't need a direct line-of-sight for the remote (and it has voice control too).

This can even be a great way to get a premium remote for the cheap Roku TVs that have been posted, typically they come with a basic remote too. The remote looks to be $20 by itself.

You'd have the Express itself to fall back on if desired.

Unless you want wired ethernet there's not really any compelling reason to buy this instead of the streaming stick which is currently on sale for $30. The stick is faster, supports DV and has a smaller footprint.

Do you need line of site for the stick and the remote?

The stick is designed to be plugged in behind the TV directly into an HDMI port. The remote it comes with uses WiFI. It will explicitly only work with the WiFi version of Roku remotes.

I keep getting a low power error message with this model. Get the same error when plugged into a power strip or directly into the wall socket. Think it's better to get the Ultra model.

Sounds like it's an issue with the power brick. Try a different brick, or even plug it right into the tv

3 sticks have cooked themselves for me, and I highly doubt any TVs that support Dolby Vision don't have their own streaming built in that's good enough

This one doesn't even have an Ethernet port. The Ultra is the only model that has it.

Is the stick more powerful over the Walmart Roku Premiere?

Tried with a brick that came with the FireTV, and also plugged it into the tv's usb slot. The same message appears, "Insufficient Power".

I always buy the knockoff remotes from amazon for like $7, they work well enough.
my kids lose them like it's their job so I keep an extra or two on hand for how cheap they are.

The Express 4K is one of a few Roku devices that support ethernet via micro USB. It is an aftermarket add on.

Why not get the ultra lt for 10$ more if Ethernet is important?
