Should I return the Asus TUF F15 I picked up last week for $100 less and get this? The Asus has 3200mhz ddr4, 140W TDP, 1920x1080 (FHD) resolution, and the 12th gen 12700H. This laptop has 5200 mhz DDR5, 105W TDP, 1920x1200 (WUXGA) resolution, and the 13th gen 13620H. Are the differences enough to make it worth the extra money? I also got Alan Wake 2 for "free" with the Asus so that might reduce the return value of the Asus.

I understand your quandary Smilie
That magical $1k mark with these specs...at last.
If the screens are equivalent, and you can return the Asus TUF F15 without penalty, then you're upgrading appreciably across the board for very little cost.

I have delivery of a desktop Wednesday, but will open it once BF and CM are over. Big Grin

Macbooks are such a scam for the money, they dont operate any better than windows laptop and they still try to charge you a 30%+ premium to many blind buyers. Like the latest macbook pro, they are releasing the base model with only 8GB of Ram LMAO. Even the mac fanboys were pissed about that. The macbooks dont run and use ram efficiently so no 8GB is not enough, especially on a Pro model.

I got this a few weeks ago (when they have around same price). You'll have to contact them to get the extra "metal" mounting piece if you want to add an additional NVME storage. Just go to their website/ support and click "Online SSD Upgrade Kits Request" and they will send it ASAP.
Also, get a cooling pad cos the keyboard/pad gets hot fast, but because the bottom has opening holes for vent, it cool somewhat ( not by a lot, but helps somewhat ). Yes, no Thunderbolt ports.

Same here, it seems the MSI doesn't have a thunderbolt. Also the 12700h has more cores. I am impressed by how quiet the TUF is when in performance. I might keep the ASUS TUF...

Could you confirm if they still use very soft/thin plastic at the bottom of the laptop that feels like could easily break?

This is my first laptop after many many years ( been using desktop all this time ) So I can't compare how they used to be ( or how they are compare to other brand ) but it feels firm and stable other than the opening vent part cos they are just a Hexagon shape with some lines (?) Something like this Every other part that are not the vent feels solid when I pressed on it. Also this laptop are quite heavy.
