It looks better than a projector at that price point and size.
But wouldn't a TV like this be better than a projector for a similar price?!?
That's a load of crap. There is no UST that competes with an LED, especially one this bright, for DAY time watching.

Not LG, Formovie, Hisense, Samsung, or BENQ. They all lool "ok" at best in a room with ambient light, even if you have an expensive CLR screen. Stop with this nonsense.

That naturally depends on the projector. There are short throw options now that are as bright, sharp and clear as a good tv.

Are you guys drunk? Did you even read that this is a 100" mini Led, the one reviewers love? I get that Hisense isn't a fully trusted brand so I am buying an extended warranty. But that is still $3500 compared to the $10,000 it costs to get a comparable Samsung. If the prices were the same, of course we would go with a better brand. The only other $3000 100 incher I see is the lower end TCL. Making this a no brainer.
Pick a good warranty, you'll need it.

100% correct. No UST projector, even with a great ALR screen, can even come close to the brightness of a TV like this. I've watched several YouTube side by side comparisons and come to the conclusion that only a TV is practical in a living room environment that is not light-controlled.

I'm replacing an older 120" screen and projector where I have to have all of the lights off in the house to get a good picture so I am super amped to have gotten this. It also helped in convincing the wife. She is thrilled to not have a projector anymore. Of course I haven't seen these new ones that are supposed to be so good. But I don't think it would have gone so well if I had told my wife we needed another projector and screen for 4 grand.

So, I got mine from Best Buy as they had one for sale yesterday at 3 grand. So I added Geek Squad. Is there a better option? I don't usually add a warranty. Can I get additional coverage from a different company? Would I even be able to cancel the Geek squad if there was a better option?

Maybe it looks a little better but how much does it weight, what is its size, how can you get rid of it when you move or stop liking it. Buying it if it's a pure nonsense
Um, you seem to be implying that it would be incredibly difficult for two adults to set it on a table...

Or that taking it to the city recycling center would somehow be a challenge to great for mere shoppers to overcome.

Versus a Queen sized mattress at 60" x 80" x 10" and between 90 - 160 lbs - https://www.saatva.com/blog/how-m...ress-weigh

So! It's about as hard to deal with as a queen sized mattress.

And unlike a queen mattress you don't have to flip it every week when you change the sheets.

Oh, and "a lot better" not a little better if you're only spending $3k on a projrctor plus screen.

This is so silly. Just get a projector at this point.
Are you speaking from experience? I've been trying to replicate the look of a large format TV using projectors (long throw, ST, UST) with every screen material possible since 2014 and never came anywhere close. I bought the 98" TCL in April and would never, ever, ever, ever go back.

There's a reason for this price. The quality is absolute garbage. I saw this tv on display and I thought the video playing was suppose to be pixilated until I saw the same video on other televisions. Hisense has a long way to go. Save your money on this one.
Just curious what store you saw the same feed playing on all TVs?

Geek squad Warrenty is probably the best. Least hassle and probably would replace or cut a check if you had issues

FUD..TCL and Hisense have stepped up quality big time and are basically pricing to steal market share from the other big ones on the market. They are putting out some fantastic sets compared to competitors an definitely shaking things up. Samsung and Sony have great quality and builds but also has lower end models.. TCL and Hisense has their higher end lines and lower end as well.

Btw check out YouTube videos by Fomo and B the installer on these 100" sets. Also follow rtings

Btw this won awards

I am waiting for one of those 3k deals to come back in stock. Need one for the bedroom. We got the Sony X90l 98 inch and now everything seems tiny. Would have to agree no projector comes close to these newer 100 inch TVs the quality is insane

One thing no one is mentioning the reason for the lower price is an 8 bit display v a 10 bit display on TCL. The 8bit display will struggle more w HDR. Also lower quality upconverting is not as good and the TV software can be buggy. Price is great for what you are getting.
