i think the boston 11 is an odd tweener shoe
it works best in faster paces (for me, <7:30min/mi) but I prefer a different shoe for that pace.
And it's too firm as a recovery shoe IMO.
It honestly reminds me of the Saucony Endorphin Shift series, which some people may like. The Boston 11 is an extremely stiff, rockered performance trainer which takes a lot of force to move properly. The firmness does lend itself a lot of stability for a neutral shoe.
I personally didn't mind it, but it's definitely not a shoe that i reach for that often. I bought mine for $39 last year.
I bought these because they were cheap and I love Boston. But they are terrible so uncomfortable the top of my foot hurts because of them. Back to new balance I go.
I can see why people may not like these, and I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I personally love mine. I even bought a second pair for when my first pair wear out. For reference, I've got very flexible, flat, long, narrow feet (13B). The Boston 11s are very stiff, but that's a plus in my experience. These shoes hold my foot in a stable position without any friction or tightness. I'm sure they aren't for everyone, but I find them very comfortable and durable.
they break in after 75 -100miles and then they r great boston12 doesnt have that problem tho
Agreed, I put about 70 miles on mine before I wore them for a half marathon and I loved them. I choose them over my topo cyclone 2's even but there are very different shoes.
These are horrible. I run a lot and was excited to try Adidas' flagship running shoe.
Felt like I was running with a board strapped to my foot. No positive support - my foot actually hurt after running in them.
I've heard that you need to break them in, but I gave them 5-10 runs and 20+ miles and I gave up.
I have a pretty neutral foot, for reference.
Bought them when they were on sale for a similar price at REI a few months ago. Returned.
Boston 10 were my fav running shoes I used 3 of them during my training blocks for long run. When 11s came in on sale I got 2 of them. Unfortunately they aren't the same as 10s. Hard to break in , even after putting 150+ miles on it, it hurt my mid foot really bad. I still have 1 new pair left.

fyi, these have a long break-in period and are disappointing out of the box (which is why they're always on sale - bought mine for $40 a year ago)...they start out very (too) stiff. They don't get softer and comfortable until you've got 50+ miles...but most people don't have the patience to get there (and I understand that)

They accepted the return despite being used?

That's a blessing in disguise
