I dislike that they put "retail" price. No one is going to pay $600 for this watch. I think it will be even hard to find a legitimate store that sells it at this price. Amazon selling it for $300

I have this watch purchased it May of 2020. It is still my daily running watch and it is rock solid. Battery is still going strong. It does way more than I need. I have a buddy that has the 945 LTE and it has way more features than the basic version. I absolutely would love to have the LTE as it would tell significant others where I am without having to carry my phone while I run. I'm a little surprised Garmin hasn't included the LTE function in the newer versions the 955 and the 965. If I can get a new 945 with LTE at this price I would jump on it.

I've had one of these since late 2019. Great for running or hiking. Built in MP3, maps, GPS, heart rate, oxygen saturation (though not very accurate). A steal at this price.

Agreed. I recently upgraded from a 945 and it was a nice improvement with the Oled and touch screen. But the 945 was working perfectly fine and I would imagine it has many years left.

The 955 is a fantastic watch for running and cycling. I've had it since last November and the GPS tracking is pretty much perfect, great battery life, and tons of storage memory with an accurate heartrate monitor. I have the solar version but the solar feature is pretty much a gimmick and having the solar panel on the screen makes the screen darker vs non-solar. Great watch though if you're serious about your training and tracking recovery, etc.

Do any of the naysayers actually own this watch? Mine is on my wrist right now, I paid $500 for it 3ish years ago and don't regret it a bit. Garmin did replace it under warranty when I got some screen delamination, their warranty service is really good. I've run thousands of miles with it, plenty of battery life for a 50 mile race and I am not wanting for features at this point, still very relevant. Solid deal IMHO.

Still a really great device, I've had mine for over 3 years now. The only issue is I've had to replace the band, and the official Garmin ones are expensive.

I have no doubt you can get fancier devices but I've run/trained for a marathon and century ride with this one, backpacked with it, taken it everywhere, wear it every day.

Unless there's something *specific* that you are looking for that only the 955 or above has, you really will be well served by this device. $260 is absolutely a good price for it (but as noted above the MSRP is now obsolete).
