I don't understand these type of products. It weighs 23lbs, so this is clearly not for backpacking, which means it's for car/truck camping. When I'm car/truck camping, I use a $40 small Weber kettle grill. Why do I need a $300 grill to do the same thing? If space is an issue, a car topper or hitch rack to provide more space for a grill and gear would be a much better use of $300. What am I missing about the utility of this?
I just went camping with the buddy who has this exact set.
He has three kids, two dogs and an SUV packed full of stuff. While the cost might be eye-watering to some, it is absolutely convenient. All Snow peak's products pack down quite nicely and their warranty is stellar!
When your SUV is packed every corner/ every inch matters if you can afford it..

Thanks OP. Anyone know if the optional ground stand is worth buying?

Doesn't seem necessary, and I feel like you could make your own for cheaper, since it doesn't need to tolerate much heat. It's more just to keep any small embers that fall onto the catch tray from damaging anything under the catch tray, and also maybe raising the fire slightly higher?

The table does not come with the grill. It's called jakiro firering table. I see it here for a little under $290. Not sure if that is worth it at that price. Just fyi, I've never shopped backcountrygear.com and can't speak towards the company.

Is there a titanium version of this ? Met some guys at glacier this summer who had backpacked in a similar grill.

Glamping is the usecase here? Its a communal grill + table.

fark no. It's a ridiculous piece of kit, and I have a snow peak titanium French press, so I know they are good products.

For a first little camping grill it's insane overkill. This is a highly specialized grill. It's for someone that is sort of a light weight camper/backpacker, but that for some reason doesn't mind carrying the weight of a grill they don't actually need.

You can probably find a cheap little beach grill made of stamped steel for less than $50 that will work very well for car camping. I got a free one from a Bartles and Jaymes promotion that I've grilled on hundreds of times. It obviously works as a fire pit too.

No saying this isn't cool or a deal, but it such a silly first camp grill I seriously have to wonder if you are just joking.

It's such an expensive grill that I'd keep the legs out of wet ground. Stainless steel will still rust in wet soil. Why not just buy a big aluminum baking sheet?
