hmm I think that's the same price I paid for this same TV last year. It's working great so far.

Same price as last year. I'm super happy with it. It's surpassed my expectations considering it was only $228 for 65" TV.

No, Roku has a developer mode you must enable through the web (no web access on tv)

I went through this to enable an IPTV service and although I was able to do it, it was a pain and they disabled the app within a month.

Wanted to add on the OS discussion.

-Apple TV, all around best for set it and forget it.
-FireTV, best for customization, cec control, side apps, etc. Also very good all around.
-Roku is also great out of the box, but will slow down over time. Probably newer updates incompatible with older hardware.
-Google- sticks are fine, TVs baked in systems all seem to have bugs that get addressed on updates, somewhat quickly.
-Nvidia shield, you'll never use the TV OS again.
-Web operating systems (tizen, LG, Google, etc) work as good as the manufacturer's service reputation. Again, based on compiling issues and pushing updates in a timely manner.
This is true about roku, I have a roku 3m projector from way back in 2012-2013 and the streaming stick doesn't support hulu, disney plus . Now I just use it with a 4k firestick. Also my tcl roku tv fro around 2018 which I rarely use anymore has gotten laggy and slightly slow at power on and loading apps. I do like the user interface of roku the best

how does this compared to TCL S470G Series? i bought a 58" from costco with 3 year warranty for $270.. should i return that for this?
I can't say on the TVs but smart move to get the warranty on a cheap TV just understand if needed, you will end up with a gift card as compared to repairing the set. The card is for what you paid and in my case a few years back since it was not black Friday when the Toshiba i had failed, BB gave me credit and I had to pay the balance for the replacement.

You have to be a paid Walmart + Subscriber to get the deal for the first 3 hours. Free trial won't be worth waiting until 3am to see sold out. Basically makes the TV $300.

You can buy just the 1 month membership so it would just add $13 dollar if anything...

Allstate/Squaretrade cut me a check last month for my 3.5 year old TCL 6 series that started to crap out.

I got this on doorbuster last year at the same price. Screen goes "red", sometimes "dark" and you have to plug-out/plug in. Plus brightness has dipped considerably. So overall, max 12 months and then trash!

We have two Roku based tvs in bedrooms, and have the same experience. After three years or so, the OS takes a dive. Using a newer, external player, (including Roku's!) works fine of course. Built in obsolescence I guess.
