hmm I think that's the same price I paid for this same TV last year. It's working great so far.

Same price as last year. I'm super happy with it. It's surpassed my expectations considering it was only $228 for 65" TV.

Got mine today. Fantastic picture! When you are watching a video, press the * button on your remote, this will open a menu, click picture settings, then change the picture mode from low power to standard. Then change the brightness from brighter to normal. You have to do this for every hdmi input.
It also asks if you want to apply the changes to 'all inputs' which I did.

I've watched 3 4K movies so far since this TV arrived, and have been watching 4K Nature content from Youtube. I couldn't be happier. May be because I've been having a 1080p Insignia TV for the last 8 years, I find this TV extremely satisfying to me. The HDR mode the blacks are so good. The Menu navigation is super neat. I set the TV so it directly turns on into HDMI1 where I have connected my FireTV. My fireTV remote is also able to switch the TV ON and OFF. KODI on FireTV being my primary source of content, I am not needing to touch the ROKU remote at all. I used the ROKU remote one time to do the initial picture setup and channel tuning with my Antenna. Exactly what I wanted. Nothing bad with ROKU, but love my FireTV 4K with KODI sideloaded. And for those who know RealDebrid, KODI + RealDebrid is heaven.

This is my first LCD TV, but I feel like the back light bleed is pretty terrible. I'm trying to decide if I can live with it in since it's just a bedroom TV, but it does bother me quite a bit. It feels like it's a pretty significant downgrade from my 1080P Samsung plasma I've had for the past 10 years. Anyone else having this problem? Is there anything better without going spending $1k plus? I feel like I'd much rather spend a few hundred more to not have this issue. I don't want to spend $1,000+ on a bedroom TV.

Hi, Can you explain what BackLight Bleed actually refers to. I actually got this TV last week, and very happy with it, honestly trying to understand what a lot of people here are complaining about. That said I have not owned expensive TVs in the past. But would really like to understand ,so I will know what I am missing.

I didn't know what it was either until I experienced it here and decided to Google it to see what it was called.

It's most noticeable on dark screens, but it's almost like a lighter frame around the edge of the picture. I can also see it on scenes that aren't dark now that I'm looking at it, but it's most noticeable on dark screens.

Here's a picture I took of mine. Although it does look even worse in the picture. You can see how the back light is bleeding through at all of the edges.

Got it. I don't seem to see that in mine. Or may be I'm not looking too close. Anyways I'm not complaining for this price.

Used it for 3 days so far. i can notice the low refresh rate. it is very bad compared to my old samsung TV which is also 60 hz but i think the samsung one had motion rate - 120 which was making a difference. Any horizontally moving objects/subjects in the picture are badly distorted.

The R on the end is just for Black Friday so you can't price match it elsewhere. Seems to be the same TV as the TCL 65S41. That's why you can't find anything other than on the Walmart site, it's an exclusive with the trailing R.

And that, my friend, is the whole point of the R.
Quote from rustum :
They created a special SKU by adding whole "R" for this sale i think.
Going through other modal number on TCL, R seems to denote Roku. Some of those have G for google TV.

Not in this case. The 65S41 (no R) is Roku also.

Can you please share your settings to fine tune the image. It came only with Roku remote. They didn't include TV remote. It has very few settings to change. I think, i can live with this TV for 1-2 years before upgrading to bigger (75") mini-led TV. It looks pretty nice compared to my old 1080P TV.

Only thing is, i need to spend money on mounting to the wall. In that case, i rather get a bigger TV and done with once instead of paying for mounting again. Once mount is setup to the wall, i should be able to hang up bigger TV myself later right? Otherwise, i will end up paying more for mounting to the wall than actual TV.
I noticed most of the settings are accessed from the Roku home screen, strangely. Hit the home button then scroll through a bunch of stuff on the left and you'll see more options. Very strange when the * does show a couple of options. But there's a few more things via the home screen.

How the heck do you control the volume having only the roku remote? Since it has no volume buttons, up/down arrows dont do it, and there no other remote?

Edit oh, on the side. Weird.

My 12 year old plasma finally died and I was looking for a cheap temporary replacement until I move and went with a 55A65K and fear I'm going to have the same issues as you. Hopefully I can just ignore it until I upgrade.

I bought this TV to hang on the wall under our covered patio. We set it up on outside on Sunday just to see what the picture looks like against the wall (not leaving it out and will set it up in April when the weather breaks). There is a lot of glare but once I hooked up YTTV it seemed ok, I'm not totally blown away and will probably attempt some tweaks from the link above. We had a 55" Samsung out there last summer and I think the picture was so much brighter and sharp with the Samsung that didn't cost too much more than this one. I had a TCL soundbar and that made a huge difference in the sound.
For the price it's a good deal, thinking about getting the extra warranty.

My first impressions of thsi tv are positive overall. The built-in speakers were better than I expected. The brightness is enough for my cover patio. The thing that stuck out to me was the smeary motion on fast-moving objects, but I'm spoiled watching most content on an OLED.
