Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

Upgradable RAM, no backlit KB, no USB-C charging, no touchscreen.
A decent laptop except the TN panel. But at this price point, you probably can't complain. That's what budget IdeaPad "1" usually use

The Costco deal uses Pentium N6000, which is 4 core. This one is 6 core.

This one is much better

Comparable to the $199.99 deal they had earlier this year for a Intel Core i3 1115G4 (1.7GHz) Lenovo laptop in terms of CPU basic power, even though the i3 is only dual core. Would take the Ryzen CPU over the Intel one for $30 more for sure. Be prepared to replace the crippled Windows 11 Home S factory install. Home S is awful due to the app install restrictions and laptops at this budget level would be better served with just regular Windows 10 if you're technically inclined.

Can't you opt out of S mode?

Yep, this is the next best-budget laptop if the $179(i3/8GB/128GB) or $199(i3/8GB/256GB) version is sold out at your local store.

You can easily move to non-S (home 11). You can't switch it back, but who would want to.

Are you referring to that Pentium N6000?
Unless you really need a larger 15.6" display (and 1-year MS 365), get this if you could. This is so much faster and a completely different user experience.
Larger and much faster SSD (vs eMMC). Much more powerful CPU.
The price difference would be well spent.
No doubt!

I'm looking for a "disposable" laptop (something I can afford to lose while traveling) in this price range, but with usb c charging. Any available deals come to mind?
