Not true at all. 2nd gen has much faster CPU and better battery life. 1st gen will lose updates much sooner. 2nd gen is a series 8 in terms of cpu

Walmart is not correct -- there is no SE 2023 (it's 2022) https://www.cnet.com/tech/mobile/...ifference/

Emergency cases. If you get mugged or pick pocket you can still call someone you know (many people don't remember phone numbers like we used to when there was no cell phones). Plus if you're surfing or open water swimming there's no WAY you'll have a cell phone close to you.

There are multiple reasons to go with an S8/S9, if there were not, whey would they offer them? You could google this, but the higher end watches offer better screen, faster processor more sensors for your health monitoring. But if you just use the watch for basic things, the the SE is a good deal.
