In for another one for family gift giving this season. Grabbed this a few weeks ago when it was on sale for $108.

If you plan to repair a deck these are good for driving 6 inch nails all day. Or even too much for brake jobs. Just bought a used pair for much less because I'm just a tree shade mechanic DIY household average guy.

The batteries on Amazon tend to be old stock (sometimes 2 years old). The last ones I ordered were definitely used, but at least they didn't seem fake like everywhere else you order them from.

They were not packaged in transparent plastic? New ones should be if it's just the batteries.

Anecdotal, but I have several of these batteries and a handful of the corresponding tools that I very rarely use and they've been working fine for a few years now. Recently used the skillsaw and drills quite a bit putting together a haunted house and finally managed to run a few of them dead. I don't think I charged the one I got with my first Dewalt drill for almost 2 years (I did charge it when I first got it).

I've been looking for this sort of deal yesterday, but now I'm questioning whether it's better to buy one 8AH battery [amazon.com] for about the same price. You are getting less energy for your money, true, but it will support higher current and won't need swapping when you use it in something energy demanding (blow a bunch of leaves and such)
