I'd do the 8000 II

I have the base 8000F and love them. But for you, I'd just spend a little extra and for the next gen.
I don't recall reading that there was a substantive difference between the two?

Would this be a drastic upgrade from Synergy F3s?

8000 II price is double of 8000. Do you think the audio quality is a serious upgrade?
A pair of 8000 II were on sale for $978 as of few days ago. Should go on sale again soon. I agree to spend a little extra dough and go with latest gen. The sound quality is actually quite a bit nicer.

Idea: I ordered the RP-280F's from a firm in CA called "Sound Distributors" about two weeks ago. The order was to replace my 280s that were damaged after a lightning strike. I was able to place the order online but received an email within minutes indicating that the 280s (and the RP-450C I ordered) were out of stock and that theyd upgrade me for free to the RP-8000's and a 504C. In other words, 8000's for the price of the 280F's.

Ive thoroughly checked out the differences between the 280Fs and the 8000's and other than very tiny differences in cabinet size, there's no substantive difference between the two models. One reviewer opened up both cabinets and found the same hardware inside. If you can find the 280s in stock they'll be cheaper than the 8000s and theyre essentially the same speaker (the 8000's are a tiny bit smaller).
I'm not an expert on their offerings, but what you say seems to check out. Not sure who has it in stock at a favorable price at this point though?

I don't know what you paid for the 280F currently the 349 on the website.
Yeah, they displayed as $349 on their site when I ordered the 280F's, but got that email indicating that they were OOS and upgraded me to the RP-8000 which they sell for $549.

Looks like these are considered oversized items and buyer pays for the return in case someone changes their mind

Ha, I recall seeing that same reddit post about the internals. Look sliek Aamazon has the 280F's available at $299 each and the 8000's on for $419 each.

Im an idiot, though. I misread the title. $699 for the pair is a steal. Sorry for any confusion I caused.

Can't justify another set but this is a little less then I paid 2.5 years ago, it was a slick deal then and a slick deal now. I listen to these daily and have no regrets.

Wish I had the floor space for these. My RP-250Fs already look large in my little living room (small townhome)

I still miss polk audio deals. the look and sound of the big floor standing models. I bought so many
Any thoughts on this vs the Polk lsim 705/707? I know the Klipsch sound signature is different, but wondering aloud if it will be an upgrade or not from the lsim.

I have polk monitor 70s. Is this going to be a worthy upgrade? And should I get a 504c for a center channel if I buy them?

I got these for $495 each almost 4 years ago, so I have had plenty of time with them. I think they are pretty darn good, especially paired with the matching center (504C). The great thing about these speakers is they are not power hungry like a lot of speakers on the market.

These are big, no doubt. Make sure you check the size before ordering.

Just FYI you can't trust Klipsch's sensitivity ratings. Erin's Audio Corner on Youtube breaks it down, but in general, their speakers need as many watts as anyone else's, for a given size speaker.
