Thank you. I recently picked a RX 6700XT for $250. I don't play games. I am upgrading for video editing. Is this better than the 6700xt I got ?
I'm sure someone will argue with me, but yes it is, especially if your editing software can make use of CUDA cores. I love AMD, Nvidia needs some competition, but most software is optimized for Nvidia and the only time I've had a computer completely screwed due to a bad driver update, it was AMD.

I'm similar. Also an AMD fanboy, but yes, there are some things Nvidia is better at.

I'm into virtual pinball and Pinball FX is a big subject in that community. That and I have an AtGames Legends Pinball system (two actually) and the flipper lag on those tends to show Nvidia as the better card, in general. Now Pinball FX3 is great too and can run on a potato and won't matter what video card really, but FX is a performance tweak/whore at the moment and the better experience seems to follow Nvidia cards.

That said, if you don't give a crap about pinball, feel free to buy more video card for the buck with AMD.

Nvidia is also better at transcoding video - but that's only a big deal if you run your own media server and don't run a modern Intel Quicksync compatible chipset. I suspect this will be something AMD improves upon soon.

The 6700xt is gonna be hugely better for gaming. As far as video editing is concerned that kind of depends on the software your using.

Premier uses the GPU way differently than davinci resolve does, resolve utilizes way more of the GPU than premier will.

But also depends on what tools your using. If your using basic video editing tools than the 6700xt will be as good or better than the 3060. But here's the real difference.

The 3060 has ai and RT cores and cuda cores. The 6700xt doesn't have any of that ai deep learning stuff. So if you intend to use any ai tools that are now coming in various video editors, the 6700xt will get its butt kicked badly and performance will not be able to hold a candle to the 3060

I am one of the unfortunate people who bought an RTX 3050 when it came out last year. And it's performance is really lame compared to pretty much anything. But the only saving grace is because it's RTX 3000 series it has the Ai core stuff in it and that's been huge for me. I've been able to use some Ai tools for video and audio and it's been sweet, the alternative is, if I had a radeon card it wouldn't be able to use any of the Ai stuff and would have to rely solely on the cpu and it would have taken forever.

I'll give an example, I was using something called upscayle which is sort of like a ai upscaling software but for upscaling 320p video to over 1080p frame by frame. And for my cpu to do it for a 3 minute video was gonna take hours and it took my GPU 15 minutes to do that.

So despite the 3050 being really lame at everything else the ai capabilities are super cool and I wish I had a 3060 but I really want to wait until the RTX 4070 12GB drops in price to what the 3060 normally sells for. I think that would be a better upgrade

I don't game much. I mainly use SolidWorks and DaVinci Resolve. Would this be a good choice for someone wanting a gpu to run this software with a $300 gpu budget? I have a 5700X cpu, 1440 monitor.

There is 0 reason to get an 6650xt when you can get a 7600 for the same price. Maybe we will see a bf sale on the 6650xt for like $200 which would be insane, but if the prices are within $30, the 7600 is the better card
Except for the fact that the 7600 gets beat by the 6650xt in most games for 20-40$ less

If your using software that is utilizing Ai and cuda, then the RTX 3060 is really the only game in town for this price range at the moment. Davinci resolve speed warp requires an RTX 3000 card just to even use that feature

How likely is it that there will be black friday deals on GPUs? Ready to pull the trigger on either a 3070 or 4070.

I want to upgrade my VPIN and was looking at this. Currently running a NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5. 3 screens with playfield at 4k locked on 60 fps (40" Vzio). I have everything running pretty smoothly with my current settings but was hoping to get some improvement. Do you think this card would do the trick? Thanks!

Any difference between this card and the MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 3060 12GB 15 Gbps GDRR6 192-Bit HDMI/DP PCIe 4 Torx Twin Fan Ampere OC Graphics Card, which is $250 (after $20 rebate) from Amazon?

Zotac was the cope brand until everyone in 2021 was desperate enough to settle for them, and now the brand is normalized.
We were all coping in 2021 tbh
