I saw this and thought this is VERY tempting
While this unit has been discontinued for a while..its still a heck of a unit

Its high end at mid line pricing...and if you can live without 8K its a no brainer

I bought one of these open box many months ago...and paid a significant amount more than this
It made me box up the Denon and sell it asap

The AVR20 is also available for like $900 also. It is the same as the AVR30 but without the Class G amplification.

I'm looking to replace a much older marantz sr7007 avr to use with my Kef R11 fronts, RC2,R3 rears.

While you mentioned it doesn't do 8K, does it have the latest hdmi spec to allow for full capabilities of a PS5,eg 120hz, vrr, deep color, and also nvidia shield plex UHD playback like Dolby Vision?

Is it HDMI 2.1 specs?

I was hoping to hold out for another year or so for a unit with the latest specs and direc live and sub calibration but if this is a too good of a deal to pass up, when makes sense to get this

It DOES not have HDMI 2.1...so no 4K @120hz, 8K @60hz
It does do deep color, dolby vision, HLG, HDR, HDR10

I have heard a rumor that Arcam will outfit it with the newer HDMI 2.1 processing chip for about $600, which would effectively make it an AVR31...and still make this a firesale deal

I personally have not confirmed that

They also have the AVR20 available in selected markets....which DOES NOT have the Class G amplification of the AVR30, but identical is my understanding, in every other way

Thank you for sharing this - looks like an absolutely incredible deal when it's this heavily discounted. I'm still running a 5.1 system with only a 1080p projector, but this will be an enormous step up from my older Pioneer Elite VSX-45. I use a separate system with HDMI 2.1 for gaming, so I'm not too concerned that this lacks the absolute latest and greatest video features. I just want the highest possible build and sound quality and this looks like a steal at this price.

I think it has Dirac Live calibration inlcuded and Dirac Bass calibration availableto purchase. Could not go for this.

15 possible channel possibility.??? Skimmed the review...not sure.

Not a bad deal! List price is $6600 and can come down to $5000. 1319.99 is a great price and will blow any other $1500 receiver out of the water!

wow, that's a nice discount. I have Onkyo RZ50, not sure if this is an upgrade or not but sure would look nice in the rack!

I don't believe the arcam has hdmi 2.1. Only downside but processing and sound quality would most likely be better vs the onkyo

Is it worth selling my denon 4500 and getting this? I would miss the upgrade to 2.1 but guess I could hook it up directly to my TV if I ever get a new gaming console

I have a goldenear xl soundbar and some rear speakers in a very large room and it sounds fine with the denon, i do use the other zone for outdoor speakers. Even the denon is probably more than I need but I don't know what I don't know. This may just be the price tempting me but you audiophiles would know better

That is a killer deal. I am debating this just to run a 2 channel system.

I had goldenear setup as well and recently downsized. They are pretty efficient speakers so they don't need much. You would hear a difference but it wouldn't be night and day difference. You might get some more punchiness and if you run room correction you will have some better results with the arcam. If you can easily sell the 4500 I would say go for it

Thanks but looks like there's no point in debating it. It's no longer available

I was able to order one 5 min ago via local pickup. Not sure if it will be cancelled or not.
