Shame a few years ago they started making the dimensions on these much smaller. So if you have older ones, they won't be the same size just a heads up.

I bought this 8-drawer and 6-drawer about ten years ago. The 6-drawer kinda blew out from the weight of the clothes it was holding but the 8-drawer never has. So I'm upgrading. A little annoyed that this version is smaller than mine by 8" but I'll be fine. Good price. Thanks!

I saw the Koppang white drawer chest is on sale too. Hemnes is good but too wide for my space and I want white. So anyone has experience of the Koppang line? Thanks!

These are some of the best dressers that they have and a good price. Yes I have this color and it is a bachelor color but oh well.

Owned an older one; one of the few items that are real wood (pine) at IKEA.

But, the wood is "sustainably sourced" so they grow trees with the intention of harvesting them, meaning the "ring" spacing on growth rings are much wider than old growth wood.

What that ultimately means as a consumer is, the wood is super-soft and gets bruised easily. I'd highly recommend a topper for these (they used to sell a plexiglass one) that'll help to protect it.

I also had a Hemnes desk - that held up for about 3 years, then the legs got wobbly.

For the price, it's not a bad solution for entry level or limited use in a guest room, but don't plan on this holding up long term (especially if you have a move involved).

We have one of these in each kids bedroom. Had them about 3-4 years in different colors. Overall they have held up. 6 drawer one. It's IKEA so don't expect solid wood or top quality. I can see gaps when I open the drawers and some of the "connections" have to tightened up every 18 months or so as the kids close drawers hardthat said they are both attractive enough and hold a lot of stuff. As long as you don't abuse them they will last a long time.

As a side note... IKEA sells cubes of various sizes for cheap. We use them inside some of the drawers for socks and smaller stuff.
