Shame a few years ago they started making the dimensions on these much smaller. So if you have older ones, they won't be the same size just a heads up.

Update on my attempt to get a phone price match. 4 days later, still no update from the store I purchased from. I called the 800 number for another update and they said that they'll send it back to the store to get an update but mentioned that if I just bring the receipt to the store, I'd get a faster resolution there. May have to suck it up and make a trip out there this weekend before the deal expires to get the price match.

You might have to look into the details of the transaction to see the amount, but regardless turns out this is all meaningless--Ikea sent me an email today denying the price match and contradicting the phone rep by stating that price matches can only be done once. I suppose I'll just buy and return if/when the nearby store has all the items in stock for pickup.

That's a bummer. Hopefully I won't have that sort of issue since this is my first attempt to price match a purchase at Ikea. But I'll just make arrangements to run out to Ikea on Friday to try a price match in person with customer service and see if I can get my money back that way.

i got 3 of the 8 drawer chest, that's $600 out of pocket, any coupons i can apply at pickup? I tried to use whatever i found online at checkout, no luck

Agreed. Im looking to switch to white for the same reason.

Also as someone else mentioned, looked like the size has gotten smaller and the materials are lighter. I have a newer night table and an older one and the newer one is smaller and lighter.

OK I plan to be among the first in line tommorow to pick up the blackbrown 8 drawer for $200. My store seems to be on the list of those not offering a food discount. I was planning on ordering up to $100 in food and taking it all home in order to get the discount. Seems that is out of the question now.

So how to finsesse a discount off the $200????? I signed up for Ikea Family. What amount of discount do I get off that and how to execute it? What proof of memerbership do I need?

Conclusion is that I went to Ikea customer service today in the store and they refunded me the price difference plus tax as part of the 90-day price guarantee. I suppose I could've saved more if I had rebought and returned with the current promos. But I decided to spring for a last chance Billy so it ended up being about the same.

Got 8 draw dresser. The roller guide (metal brackets) at center frame are misaligned. It's at an angle.

Got to say this was one of those rare deals that make this site well worth visiting. The black brown actually looks beautiful when assembled. Seems IKEA is discountinuing all black brown furniture as other items are all marked last chance (but with an elevated price). I went through a 2 month ordeal with IKEA as the wood on the first was not sanded down properly and the black brown higlighted those defects in that they look like white scratches. IKEA was kind enough to exchange and the replacement was 97% better than the first. Seems like it came from a different subcontracted factory IMO. There was one scratch however and IKEA said they could not exchange the part (top of dresser) and that I could get a refund only as there was no more in stock at the store or that could be shipped. I simply accepted it given it was a super great deal to begin with and looks great in one of our bedrooms. If the Hemnes ever goes on sale at a steep price, I am in for another one.
