I've been following this thread because I'm in the same boat as a couple of people on here. I have the plus subscription from last year for Netflix and mine's going to run out on the 14th I've already canceled it I dug around on the site in the terms and here's the fine print I came up with and it doesn't mention anything about getting rid of your current phone plan and having to upgrade to a new one you just have to be a current Verizon Mobile customer and to make sure that your old plan is canceled or has ran out without being renewed. Here it is:

If you have an existing Netflix account that was not purchased on +play, you can link it to this offer as described in Netflix service terms below. If you are currently enrolled in Netflix through +play, you will need to cancel your current subscription and reach the end of the billing cycle in order to subscribe to the Bundle Subscription. If you are currently enrolled in either the "Buy one, get one free" or "12 months Netflix on us" Netflix promotions offered through +play, you will not be eligible for this Bundle Subscription until your current Netflix promotion expires.

Once you activate Netflix, it stays active until the end of the year Sub, whether you have Verizon or not. I did this deal last year and switched to FirstNet months ago. Still have Netflix until next month. just make sure you turn off auto renewal.

Only the Premium qualifies for the promo which is $149. I believe the cheapest is the Paramount+ with Showtime at $119. Last year the $25 NFL+ qualified making it much slicker.

No, they're trying to be sneaky and get people to switch off of their old unlimited plans. I currently have Apple Music, Apple Arcade, & Disney+/Hulu/ESPN+ through their old plan, and if I try to sign up for this, I would have to pay more, and lose my extras.

+play has nothing to do with a cell phone subscription plan

When I was looking to sign up during the last promotion, they told me I'd have to be on the new unlimited plans in order to do it.

I'd check again. +play is a service where you can pay all your subscriptions through one portal. Instead of paying Hulu, Netflix, paramount etc. You instead just pay +play. This is open to anyone regardless of carrier.

Edit: it seems I misspoke or they've changed their model. Looking at their faq you need to have a mobile account for Verizon. My apologies.

I edited my previous post after double checking the website. It seems like I either misread how +play worked when I used it before or they've changed eligibility. It looks like you need to be a mobile customer.

This is exactly what I needed. Thanks for the info. Currently on a previous Netflix+nfl pass or whatever and it ends in the middle of December. I'll be able to use this deal when that expires.
