Tried using these with my WSM smoker and they are useless. The wireless functionality isn't great when going through metal, as one might expect. You have to stand right next to it to get a signal. Their support was also useless in trying to get this resolved.
Even when cooking on an open grill the range isn't great. Have to be careful on the grill, though. If you sear over 500F, you could damage the meater+. Never bothered using in the kitchen as I can easily just use a thermapro quick-read meat thermometer to check temps as needed.
