Yup... The entire balance was covered by the Account Balance, which was great, since the balance was loaded with GCs at a 20% discount.

These are all regular price with a gift card. Apple Watch with gift card comes out more expensive after gift card when compared to Amazon.

Not when you pay with gift cards (account balance) that you obtained at 20% discount throughout the year.

Purchased the $100 Apple Gift Card from Amazon to get the $15 Amazon promotional credit. Get the Apple Gift Card (physical) tomorrow and then will use that towards the $149 Apple TV 4K. Then will get the $25 Apple Gift Card and apply it to our account to get $25 off our next Apple One payment. Not perfect but still $40 off on the budget this month and technically get the Apple TV 4K for $109.

As mentioned, this "sale" only makes sense if the account balance was created with discounted GCs, and the GC you get from Apple is like "cash" for subscriptions, in-app purchases, etc. Otherwise, for almost everything, buying it from other retailers makes more sense.

My kid just bought the iPhone 13, doesn't see the gift card on receipt.
He chose Verizon vs unlocked as it was 30.00 cheaper.
He doesn't really seem to care, because he's 18. I'm just wondering if it will come via email, or selecting a carrier negates gift card.

Why didn't you do the EDU deal ($499 + $100 gift card)? It was available for the past several months (just recently expired)

I think selecting a carrier negates the GC. When I was buying for my parent's the GC did not show up in bag when I selected a carrier. It only showed up when I bought unlocked.
