Didnt folks buy recently from Walmart at 200 or something
That was likely a mistake and the deal was only around for a few hours before being taken down. I wouldn't expect these headphones to be discounted by much more than this deal this year but I guess we'll see.

100% but as a battle hardened SDer I would rather not buy it at all (and get Sonys or nothing at all), than to pay more than my fellow SDers just paid a month ago. Even if I can afford to buy whatever, this is the game I play lolol

To be fair, it was $269, which is a significant difference from $200. I got a pair and am growing to like them more and more. Still unsure if I'll return them though. The earcups are definitely more roomy than the QCX5's, and the earpads of the Ultras have a wider circumference opening, but they're not as plush. With that said, something about these causes me to have to remove them and scratch/rub my ears semi-frequenty. I think the issue is that they're just deep enough to barely rub against the peach fuzz on my ears to tickle/itch them. So it may just be an issue specific to my ears. With that said, I think I'm getting used to it, and it doesn't bother me nearly as often as it did when they were new. These also get warm just like any other over ear headphones.

Hawt dang. I want them so bad at 269!! I own in-ear ones MK I for daily commute and I own QC 15 (wired, white, for SO) and 35 Mk II w/e those models were called. I really like Bose's ANC. So now will just set a SD alert and patiently wait.

I am a quiet freak and I bought these because I read that the noise cancellation was significantly better than my old Sony XM4. I can confirm that it's true, the noise cancellation is better. I also like that these headphones autodetect whether they are on your head or not.

The noise cancellation is definitely nice. The autodetect feature actually annoys me more than it helps me. It would be nice if it could distinguish live video vs regular video or audio.
how is the sound quality?? dont tell me no highs and no lows.
People argue over whether the QC, XM series, or Airpods Max sound best but honestly, I think none of them sound good. And like the XM5's, the Ultras recycle the same drivers of their previous flagship model. The one pair of ANC headphones that people agree are the winner in that category are the Momentum 4's, which are plagued by software issues. People who really want sound quality are best off getting a refurb with a great warranty and spending the money they saved on a nice pair of wired open-back headphones.
