Looking at the same. Looks like brightness will differ, color profile, refresh rate. All in favor of the newer 240hz model.

very little difference to my eyes. At least not nearly as much as 60hz to 144hz (I have 3 mis-matched monitors).

Very slight. Unless you are playing competitive FPS titles and are *really* good, considerable diminishing returns set in around 144hz. Some people have a sweet spot, though. I've personally owned everything between 75 and 200, and I really like 170. *shrug*. (And it's not that I'm "really good", it's just my eyes feel better and I feel my reactions are at their best at 170. I couldn't tell anything whatsoever beyond that, to 200).

I have an LG 27GL83A-B (144hz IPS 1440p), RTX3080 and R7 5800X3D. I play a lot of Valorant and Rocket League and some CS2. Wondering if this would be worth an upgrade? Really would like to upgrade to a OLED with good HDR and 240hz but those are still too expensive.

The higher the refresh rate, the lower the input latency for your games as well. Even at fixed 60fps for fighting games, the refresh rate of the monitor also contributed to input latency. You may not see it, but you'll feel it when you're performing 1-3,frame links. Costume 3, SF VI anyone?
My budget console & pc setups are;

24.5" 1080p @ 240hz for competitive
32" 1440p @ 120hz+ casual & co-op
75" 4k @ 60hz-120hz for couch & co-op
7.4" @ 90Hz for Mobile PC

Been trying to find a good monitor to use with my PS5....I wanna continue to use the 120hz feature on my ps5 for FPS games....does my monitor need the hdmi2.1 like my TV does? Appreciate any input if anybody has some

No, HDMI 2.0 will do. The PS5 doesn't even do 10bit color. This would be a great monitor til the OLEDs come down in price. the blacks are the only downside
