they are getting bad in the second season of christmas time....hit or miss 4 out of 8 will work in the 2nd year.
My problem with these are they are just slightly bigger in diameter than a normal AA battery. It just makes them a pain to put in or take out of certain things, like my keyboard.
Ikea and Eneloop are the way to roll.

These batteries are discharged after 2 weeks in my unused microphones.

What charger to use for these?
I'm a big fan of this one [amazon.com].

I was just checking out rechargeable AA's yesterday - before this thread - and decided against the Amazon brand as reviews are pretty consistent that they don't last. I bought another brand that doesn't have any of those bad reviews but aren't as pricey as, say, Energizer.

In my application I am replacing the rechargeable cells in solar lights so that the lamps last longer in the dark (the included cells are only 500mah, most reputable rechargeable are 2000mah+). We'll see how long the ones I bought last, but I certainly don't want to be changing them out every year if possible

Excellent point. Way slicker to just replace the electronic device the amazon battery just puked on.

Literally just threw 2 of these in the trash a few days ago.
You had to replace the electronic device? Are you saying these batteries destroyed the device, and how so?

Ikea is 2 hours away for me and both times I've been in the last few years they had 0 LADDA batteries in stock. Super frustrating. Does anyone have luck finding them?

You should just use a regular alkaline battery for very low discharge stuff that you need to replace once every 1-2 years. Otherwise, you aren't getting much value out of using rechargeables.

That's true for me for any batteries other than Eneloops that I bought 10 years back. Most are still going strong at about 50% capacity
Sad these have built in life expectancies. Companies don't make money if we don't have to keep buying more...

Any Japanese NiMH is going to be high quality. The chinese ones, not so much.

Wandering if maybe there is a difference in new/unpacked vs installed in the device (contacting terminals)?

I have had leaking batteries destroy a device, specifically an xbox controller. Acid and pcb boards aren't great friends

In this case a few days ago, I was lucky and the amazon basics battery was leaking just sitting in the drawer that I use to rotate charged batteries when needed.
