$449 Philips 3200 Series Fully Automatic Espresso Machine w/ Milk Frother - Black
Model:EP3221/44

Note: Same series, different model # as OP. For $100 less you get milk frother but not the LatteGo Milk System.

I have this and love it so much I got another as a gift. From whole bean to latte in less than two minutes. While it's grinding the beans and then coming up to pressure it steams and froths milk. It's all very fast. Most of the complains I see are regarding temp. Fresh out of the machine it's too hot to drink, but this is espresso not coffee, the portions are smaller. It cools quick. Some actual double walled espresso glasses and they stay perfectly hot! If you're already spending hundreds on an espresso maker, the LatteGo system is easily worth a little extra. It automatically steams and froths an exact amount (you have 3 different settings for the amount)

I've traveled lots and had many amazing latte and cappuccino, so it honestly is far from the best I ever had, but I would say that with a little practice using syrups, spices, etc, this is AT LEAST as good as your standard cafe. One of my favorite things!

Note - Sometimes you can get this from "Amazon Warehouse" (A returned one) for a little less than 400.

I bought the Used-Acceptable from Amazon a few weeks ago for $309 and it was practically brand new, just had scratches on the side of the water reservoir. The accessories were brand new and sealed in package.

We only really drink espresso and Americanos in our house and I'm not really sure where I stand on it at this point.

I'm used to drinking Starbucks French roast for drip coffee and Starbucks espresso roast for espresso and I really like the dark flavor (afficianados would say burnt to hell). You're not supposed to use dark roasted beans in superautomatics due to the oil on the beans gumming up the grinder.

As a result, I've had to resort to using medium roasted beans (lavazza super crema, locally roasted, currently on Ruta Maya medium roast) and the espresso just isn't as strongly flavored as I would like.

There's supposed to be a break-in period for this machine and I don't know if my experience is common, but I had to go through about 3 lbs. of beans before I got anything drinkable. I tore my hair out fiddling with the settings, brewing all different types of drinks only to have to dump it in the sink because it was way too weak and sour (even at the finest grind setting). Don't make the same mistake like I did and buy expensive locally-rossted beans to use as soon as you get the machine. In my case, that was $ down the drain, literally. The manual says not to think about touching the grinder setting (set at 6 from factory) until about 100 cups or a month of use, but I'm literally getting brown water at 6. I'm currently going between 1 and 2 right now.

I'm going to continue the break-in process for another 50 shots before I decide to keep this or return it.

Edit:

Was responding to the first post about Model:EP3221/44, the non Lattego version.

I have the 4300 model I ordered directly from Phillips. I want to say if you contact their customer service and ask for a first responder discount they gave 20% off and when I ordered I actually received it the next day, ymmv. Also their cs is awesome. My lattego milk cup was having micro cracking in the bubbling part, didn't effect anything other than looks. They sent me another one without any issues. I would highly suggest this and honestly the higher models are probably not worth it, I never use the extras on mine.

I had an offer for a $200 Amazon gift card for signing up for the Prime Visa card, used it on this. Definitely worth considering if you haven't got one.

We've had ours since July 2022. Went in for warranty fix of milk frother in July of this year. Sadly, same problem just cropped up again. We make 7+ macchiatos a day with the machine, so I'm not sure if it's a volume thing or what. But we do like the machine when it's not away for servicing.

What happened to your milk frother? Just had an issue with mine but seems to have fixed itself.
