the free filament thing is scam. i ordered when it was in stock. my invoice says so. i got two .25kg of basic pla rolls, which is not what i expected.
not a good start with this company.
now, on the site it says the free filament offer is no longer available.
Wow, that is embarrasing, you can buy filament on Amazon all day long for $12/1kg spool which means it probably costs the company $2 to make and Bambu can't afford to give away a couple spools with a printer
My K1 Max for $650 came with a full spool of HyperPLA!
Is this fully operational offline? I can't do cloud based printing.
How does the multi-color printing work? Does it empty the nozzle everytime it changes filament color on a layer?
It can do offline, but updates are online only (if I recall) and some ai and camera features aren't available.
It's best to look up some videos on YouTube for better info.
The filament is cut at extruder, retracted into ams, new filament is pushed out to extruder, it purges into waste shoot, it then purges into waste tower or into infill (there are options), then starts on main print model.
Note, all purges are configurable per color combo, so if you want to purges less going from white to black and more going the opposite way, you can.

After an hour of searching forums, reddit subs and YouTube I finally confirmed some of my suspicions and unfortunately picked up multiple new ones. You can't disable purges altogether. Printing in multi-color is extremely inefficient (as of ~8 months ago when the one decent video was posted) unless you only change colors by a few layers (which is easy to do manually with most printers). The software looked limited and a tad clunky in setting up color changes. They are also missing some opportunities in reducing layer changes by taking advantage of both infill and z-height. I think I'll wait on upgrading to a $1000+ printer until they get advance a little more.

I think the free filament spools disappeared from the deal? It did say until supplies last.
I was about to pull the trigger on this as well and was wondering where the free spools of filament went.
Unless I'm missing something?
