depends. what resolution you game at and how long you wanna go before upgrading. more vram is always better for the future but the 7800 xt is a better cost per frame by a somewhat notable amount.
i'd say 7800xt with the 16gb is more than fine at 1440p for 3+ yrs and 1080p 5+....with that said though wait. wait and see how the 4060 super and 4070 super shake things up. they aren't that far off.

You are right, my 3070 gives good performance on all my games now, especially for FS 2020 my favorite.

The 3080 is still a powerful card so I guess it depends on what resolution you're hoping to play at. And if it's the 10GB or 12GB 3080. If it's the 12GB at that price then it's a no brainer in my opinion. If it's the 10GB it's still a good deal, but 10GB VRAM might be (probably will be) an issue if you plan to keep it more than a year or two.
