I highly recommend these PowerBlock dumbbells for a home gym, I bought them a few months ago at a slightly lower price and they are my favorite thing that I have purchased all year. They feel great and are very easy/quick to adjust, without taking up much space in my exercise room.

I got the $200 amazon gift card from the credit card approval. I was hoping to apply it towards the $200 Sport EXP that's on Woot but it doesn't seem to apply to Woot. Oh well, guess I'll have to settle for these and pay the extra $100 out of pocket. The Sport EXP and the Elite EXP don't appear to be any different besides the appearance. Both expandable up to 90 pounds. Is there any major difference?

The Elite has two support bars in opening that would touch your wrists if you have very thick wrists, and the Sport is open but has the stupid bread shape that has two high pressure spots on the bottom so if you put them on foam it'll leave deeper marks in the foam.

Now we just need a deal on the expansion kits. I also wish the expansion kits were compatible with all of the powerblock models.

I had them in my cart but couldn't apply the amazon gift card. I think I would have preferred them over the elites...especially since the sport exp kits were also on sale.

Anyone know how often the expansion kits for the elites go on sale?
I missed out on the $200 sport ones.
and yes sucks how the expansion kits aren't compatible with each other

Doesn't seem very often. I managed to snag a stage 2 for like $110 by checking amazon constantly but the price was only that low for a few minutes so I got lucky.

Edit: Since I said something they're now on sale for $140 at amazon... debating whether to get stage 3 myself. Not that I am able to use it yet lol.

It doesn't happen often but it's much cheaper to snag the sport exp when they come on woot. Especially when you want stage 2 & 3. (Happened 2x the last 6 months)

If you only want 50lbs then definitely wait for the sport non-exp on woot for $200. (Probably once a month almost the past 6 months) It seems to happen often and you get better adjustability between 5-50 giving up the expandability for no adder weights bother.

Argh. I am on the hunt for Elite USA (not EXP) stage 3. Beside PowerBlock, it appears nobody really even sells the USA version any more.

Edit: I bought the set directly from powerblock. They're running a 15% off black friday sale and free shipping... $160 before tax. Only $20 more than prior woot deals.

Elite EXP expansions do work on the Elite USA but there's a size difference that makes the top stick up a little. It's tolerable to some and an eyesore for others. I don't think the reverse is true though.
