Seems a little pricy, especially since gold is almost at an all-time high.

Costco price is usually close to gold future price but this is different. Gold future is 1983 but costco price is 2030 before taxes

Has anyone tried to place more than one order? Did one or both of the orders get canceled? I'm waiting for a confirmation

And $1899 before that. Gold spot has climbed.
I am referring to just few days, not weeks.

A backup plan for instance when the government shuts down the power grid, freezes your account, an invasion, or the government continuing to "print" money like never before. If you have no cash and one of these happen (you happen to have it all digital) this will get things done. Also gold's "value" is what is called stable coin meaning the price will go up or down with the strength or weakness of the dollar to other currencies (DXY). Alternatively crypto can be another alternative but it is digital and can fluctuate. It's also easier for governments to get their fingers on it if they really try.

Normally I would recommend get minted coins (canada dollar (maple leaf), us eagle, etc) because they have tradable value and can be above just the spot price. Simple gold bars should be priced lower.

These prices are not that good for just a bar and since this isn't Costcos main business you are going to pay a premium over a bullion broker.
Where can you get bars for less with a credit card?

Not available means you have to call them and ask really nicely and they will sell you one.

Had my order cancelled. Has anyone been told by Costco they limit gold to 2 bars per year, regardless of the item number? This explanation makes zero sense and I don't see anything besides limits on the specific item.

I bought one a on the previous deal and tried to get 2 this time.

Update: Costco's systems are garbage. Any limit listed by Costco will be checked over 8 biz days. After that, the limits refresh.

Most dealers only buy back coins at spot, unless it's a rare or proof coin. Effectively making this a better investment.
