Can you advise how long this will be supported by Google? My Acer 14 CB3-431-12K1 recently fell out of support and I'm looking for a replacement, and the specs on this look pretty good for my use case.

Chromebooks released 2021 or later will receive support for 10 years

I was told Chromebook Plus has at least 10 years support by Google.
Besides, Chromebook Plus (at least ASUS) has Linux support. You can go to setting to turn on developer mode. Then, you get Linux. From there, you can install Linux apps on your Chromebook. This does not involve wiping the hard drive to install Linux. In this way, you get half of the Chromebook and half of the Linux machine. That's why you need at least 8G of RAM and 128G storge. Gradually, you need install more applications.
If you use WINE (windows application in Linux), you can install some basic Windows applications as well.
Also, you can run virtual machine to install Windows 10, but not Windows 11.
I just spent a week to test ASUS Chromebook Plus CX34.

These are accurate answers but I found Google posts the exact date to which the device is supported. The CM34 is supported until Jun 2033 per Google's list. Thanks anyway but be aware of the below link in case this question comes up again:
