I am always tempted by these Uber one discounts, but I notice when I get Uber one I stop getting the good coupons for orders. And magically once my Uber one subscription expires they flood me with coupons.

Until u realize that we have been getting 40% off coupons once or twice a month for several years now, combined with gift cards deals and restaurants that don't mark up their prices, and it ends up being a slick deal. Plus great for the times where you actually use an Uber. I feel like it genuinely pays for itself

Uber Eats is a ripoff. Between the mark up on food and a bunch of made up charges, it's not worth it.

I have the Amex Platinum and I end up doing a pick up to redeem my monthly $15 credit. For $15, I get maybe $11/12 worth of food.

I 100% agree with this… at $60 or less per year this is worth it. I'm just having trouble biting at $100. If my account gets this offer I'm signing back up. For some restaurants it ends up being cheaper than actually going of you maximize it. For example with the 40% off I order items that reheat well and also get kids meals to save a few. Plus the gift card deals. However I do not use Uber for some of my locally owned restaurants because of the fees they get charged.

For about 2 years, you could stack the 40% with restaurants that did BOGO offers. Limited selection, but hoo boy was that a deal. I think they just caught on though, didn't work the last time I tried.

I just did it on Monday. Had b1g1 Tuna Roll and Crab Rangoon from local sushi burrito. Stacked with 40% off. Done that a few times during the last month or two.

I noticed they gave me even better deals when I was a Uber one subscriber. Got multiple 60% off coupons

I think what they mean is that the free items would count towards the minimum spend needed for the coupon to work. It no longer does but you can still stack the coupons as long as the total reaches minimum after BOGO promos.

I would recommend getting the SavorOne card (no annual fee) instead. It gives you UberOne free (credits you back), and 10% back on uber through the card. Pair with promos and its pretty sweet.
