I've been watching a particular cruise over the last couple weeks. For that specific cruise, this "sale" is actually more expensive than it has been for the weeks I've been watching.

Same price through Costco.
Any advantage to booking though Costco vs direct?

I've been following Norewegian's website and everyday is a sale with a limited time. Guessing this tactic applies to all others along with hidden fees. Look at the whole package and total costs. Just to get wifi you need to get upgrade to a much more expensive package. Crazy. At least I have the patience to cancel out once I see the final price and keep on scouting.

I've cruised a lot, granted not with Princess, but on the others I have determined that cruise "sales" are almost always a scam of sorts. Go to the Norwegian or Royal Caribbean website and take note of the current sale and it's countdown timer. Come back when it has expired and you'll see a new sale, that is the same as the old. Take note of when that countdown timer expires and come back after... guess what... Same sale. After that, same thing. The prices rarely substantially change but there's always a new sale. They are trying to bait you with FOMO. Take your time, pick where you want to go. See who is giving you the best package and destinations. Don't stress this deal not being here in a week. It will be, just with a different name. They always are.

Done 20+ cruises. They are only a rip-off if you allow them to be. I just sailed on Symphony of the Seas, Oasis class cruise ship with Royal Caribbean on a 7 night sailing in the Western Caribbean.

My wife and I don't drink alcohol, we don't do the internet package because you basically have internet once you get off the ship at every port 5 of 7 days anyway, so why pay extra, just enjoy being offline on sea days, and we buy excursions through things like Viator, or just do our own thing.

My wife and 3 kids, 5 people total, left that 7 night cruise with less than $100 in extra charges, and most of that was just $5 t-shirts, and I stupidly forgot my fancy gel, so I bought some overpriced gel for $40 at the salon than the cheap $4 gel in the toiletries vending machine. We did $5 milkshakes with the kids 1 day.

There was so much included you don't need to pay for all the extra crap.

I've sailed Princess, NCL, Carnival, Disney, and RC. You can basically get through any cruise without the upcharges, though NCL, imo, REALLY nickle and dimes the hardest, and Disney is the easiest to spend the most money on because so much extra stuff for the kids that is just awesome has an extra charge... but in all honesty, Disney is a one-time thing only cause it's 3x the cost of Royal Caribbean for smaller more crowded ships lol.

You really can make cruising into a fun and affordable vacation, you really can.
I went on a cruise twice and won decent money the first night on the casino. Both times ended up getting money back. The slots are loose on the first night to get word of mouth out…

Early 30's. I'm leaning on a short cruise so we could bail if its not for us.
One of the advantages of cruise is unpacking once and visiting a different place each day. Don't pick a cruise less than 5 days… you spend a day settling in and exploring the ship and a half day at the end getting packed back up. Less than 5 days and you'll be tired of packing and unpacking. As to this deal, only some of the cruises and dates are included and have the little red 50% off tag listed in the descriptions when you are scrolling through the list of cruises. Ive had my eye on the fjords cruise too and it is not included. It is crazy that princess asks for $1k for a 3rd guest on some dates for 7 day cruises. Thats only $100 less than single price in your own cabin.

I also checked and found the same price through Costco.

I booked through Costco because they offer cash cards and better cancellation policies.

I booked a Norwegian Alaska cruise for the same price on the Norwegian website.

Kids on cruises is the absolute worst. And it's usually the most spoiled little brats, and their horrible parents, that are on them. Unless it Disney, please keep your disease spreading little entitled brats away from the other cruise lines.
how do you behave when you are "once" a kid?

There are many better choices than Royal Carribean. It's barely better than Carnival.
Yeah but for him politics takes precedence over common sense.

I'm sure I acted like most children do. The difference is my parents would never take me on a trip that was never designed for children.
