I've been watching a particular cruise over the last couple weeks. For that specific cruise, this "sale" is actually more expensive than it has been for the weeks I've been watching.

On a princess cruise as I write this. Save your money. It's lipstick on the pig which is Carnival. Nothing works (Wi-Fi down yesterday afternoon through morning- so the app required to do anything on this ship was inaccessible). Food is disgusting except for places that have a surcharge. Breakfast this morning seemed like someone had shoved it up their rear and farted it onto the plates. Only thing entertaining about the entertainment was making fun of it with fellow guests. List goes on…

Anyone else encountering the same issue?
It could be that your cruise is not one on the list. It says in fine print:

GENERAL TERMS APPLICABLE TO ALL OFFERS ("Offer(s)"): Unless otherwise indicated in an Offer's terms, Offers only available to legal residents of North America. Offers only available for new bookings, on select cruises, on a limited availability, are capacity controlled (regardless of stateroom availability), and may not be combined with other offers or promotions (aside from those listed herein).

BS, not if you're savvy and aware before hand. Cruises can be great value.
Our next is a transatlantic, Fort Lauderdale to Lisbon. $850 for 12 nights, that includes wifi and the drinks package.
Gratuity is $15 a day per person. Taxes a couple of hundred.

Find me an all inclusive vacation for 12 days for under $1000

3rd and 4th guest free but they give you one bed? Maybe I'm missing something.
There are pull out sofa beds and bunk beds that come down from the ceiling.

You have no idea what you're talking about. Actually, you can cruise without spending an extra dime. Free food all day, free swimming, free working out, free browsing the ship and shops, free relaxing in various lounges, free games
and shows, etc etc etc. At port, you can walk around and see most everything for free. You can usually take your own case of sodas and a bottle wine on board for free. Just don't let them uncork it.
And for like 5 cruises, I've put a liter of so of my favorite liquor in "rum runners" (heavy duty plastic bags with screw tops from Amazon) that I put in my suitcase for sipping on during the cruise. I've probably saved a thousand dollars doing that since my gf doesn't drink and drink packages often have to be bought by your roommate as well.
Hope these tips helped you save $$$ on your cruise! Lol.

What hidden charges? I can only think of the mandatory service fees toward the end of the trip. Cruise is a great all inclusive headache free vacation. I used to hate it when I was younger. But now I have kids, it's the best.

I noticed the same last year when I was tracking a Celebrity Cruise over a 6 month period. They'd always have some new sale with additional on board credit, and the site would have a countdown timer of like 48 hours...but then there would always be another sale with another countdown timer. The sale discount numbers appeared to keep going up (implying the total price should have been going down), but the total price actually ended going up the whole time.

Does a specific cruise's prices increase over time as it gets closer to sailing time? I've read you save if you book earlier. Would that explain why the cruise price increased over time regardless of the sale?

Is there a website that tracks true cruise pricing? There's always a "sale" going on and never sure if it's actually good pricing or not.

We went on a princess cruise for a week in the spring. We drank and ate and explored, and didn't have one unexpected charge. 🤷 ♂️
Same here. I have been on 30 cruises with various cruise lines and have never had any extra charges. I do believe the forced tipping is a ripoff at now $20 per person a day though. Same goes for the 18-20% extra charge on many other things such as the already overpriced drinks. I don't drink so it doesn't affect me. Many people can't breathe without a cell phone in there hand and pay well over $100 a week for internet on a cruise too. I'm not one of them. The last day of any cruise, people are lined up at guest services complaining about their bills after spending like a drunken sailor the whole cruise.

I guess the guy is considering "unexpected" charges things he drank, ate, and did and expected it to be all free. You have to be a little smart in planning and have a bit of a clue on the boat. It's not hard.
