I bought this monitor in the past and returned it for an 1800R curved monitor (just personal preference).

For those just trying out a curved monitor for the first time, the lower the number (like 1000R), the more aggressive the curve. 1000R is based on a 1 meter radius.

The 1800R is based on a 1.8 meter radius.

I found the 1800R on a 34" screen to be better for me (less gaming, more productivity work). I think if I went wider than 34", I might look at a 1500R perhaps (to fit my preference).

Hopefully this helps someone else. Who isn't familiar with the curvature numbers yet.

These slightly older models haven't aged well vs. the newer models but a decent no frills investment.

How is this for Excel and word? Corner brightness and clarity is important for me when doing productivity.

I just bought the Costco Acer. Decent monitor but I have the dreaded VA flickering issue on games. This happens especially in the menu or options screens. I had to download a utility called CRU to lessen the issue. Widescreen IPS panels really need to go down in price. These ancient VA panels can't do freesync/gsync properly.

What is CRU? How would I recognize if I needed or not?

What are the older models lacking?

If I plan to do duo 34, would 2 1800R be better or 2 1000R?

I got the Acer but didn't open it yet. The specs look almost the same, including the brightness and not having height adjustment. I think this one has less inputs (I can't check the Acer right now) ...

I'm just going to keep the Acer because Costco is easier to deal with if anything goes wrong

personally, I think 2 1000R would be too aggressive (my thoughts). I think 2 1800R or 1500R would be better (plus you could angle them more or less with the mounts).

2 1000R displays would practically wrap around you. Might be kind of cool for a flight simulator though Smilie
