dual-sided scan feature is well worth the extra $30 imo (compared to the single-sided model on sale for $250)
No cheap aftermarket toner for rough and high usage ppl
It can scan to email but you need an email server (gmail ended it's app passwords unless you used it previously). We use Office 365 email server to email out. It can print from android via the Canon app. Be aware that the email port settings is in the network ports page and not in the email server setup page. All the networked 200, 400, 600, and 700 series Canon MFPs should support scan to email. I've setup all those models. The 200 series doesn't support Office 365 smtp email server though (even after firmware updates).

When testing you'll have to look at the transmit job log for the error codes like if you put in the wrong password vs HP and Brother which has a "test email" function on it's email setup.

You can scan to network drive. You can only setup 4 icons on the front panel for destinations though. So press the button with your email setup or network destination on it and it starts scanning and sending wiith pre-sets without having to press additional buttons/confirmations. The icon setup is a little wonky but works.

You'll need the software if you want to fax from your computer: print to fax, enter the fax number, and the machine faxes it out without you printing it and then faxing it traditionally.1

Got one for $299 back in July and love it so far (haven't tested the scanner yet, it requires software download and just haven't needed it yet). Just hoping aftermarket toners start showing up before I need a replacement…

The extra $30 also gives you fax capability, in addition to the dual-sided scanning.

What? It can't scan to file or network drive? I assume it can't scan to email but at least should scan to file. How about android printing?
