Target also has it for this price, save another 5% with RedCard.

You're not wrong. I'm sick of  skimping on storage, but if this is a secondary device that's mainly a screen for streaming and browsing, or even just kids' apps, then the storage will be fine.

It's been about this price for the past year now, it always goes on sale for $250 so one year later and it's only $20 cheaper, but your one year closer to not being able to receive updates because Apple wants you to keep buying new devices.

This thing is ancient with a 4 year old processor and only 3gb of RAM. My iPhone 13 already has reload issues and it has 4gb RAM.

I wouldn't touch an iPad unless at minimum, it's the current iPad Air. The M1 and 8gb RAM will not give you issues for years to come.

That's a 2 year old phone. Why do you keep funding insanity.

I was able to score $30 off w/ my discover 30% off by using a small amount of points & discover has 5% back on Amazon purchase. If you search on slickdeals for discover you should be able to find the link for percentage off when you use points.

RedCard doesn't double your warranty, just something to keep in mind. If you come crying to apple about why your iPad isn't working there either a. Going to tell you to buy a new one. b. Tell you to go pound sand. Don't be like me, I bought an iPad Pro on discount with a few gift cards and managed to save around 7 percent of the cost of the iPad. A year later I was having touch screen issues, went to Apple and they told me there repaid cost would be $500. That's almost the cost of what I bought the iPad for. Went to a few repair shops and was quoted around $200-250. All that to save 7 percent. I ended up coughing the money to have it repair but suffice to say it wasn't a very enjoyable experience. Had I just bought using a credit card I would have saved so much time. If your going to buy a $700+ item you better make sure as hell it doesn't stop working after a year of use.
What credit card do you have that offers a double warranty? I have Citibank and I know they took the benefit away?

This deal, it's $50 off with Discover.
To be clear, that $50 off isn't specific to this item, so it's not apples to apples. Pun semi-intended.

This is already a 2 year old device. I don't understand how this is a deal. It should be sub $200.

Which chase card is that in particular that provides benefit of extended warranty?
You can get the extended warranty as a benefit of a Visa Signature card. The Amazon Chase Visa is a Visa Signature card.

My 7th gen stopped charging, $180 cost for charging port repair. Opted for a $120 fire max 11. It's okay but ease of use and apple app store is way better

I think the big limiter here is storage. Gonna blow through that 64GB storage fast…

Had an OG iPad Air and 32GB went quickly even though apps back in the day when app were quite a bit smaller. I would play the juggling game on what to delete and what to keep on to download other apps. I try to buy my Apple devices with atleast one tier up in storage when possible.
I am getting confused this is 256 GB storage not 64 GB right. Am I missing something?

A13, A14, A15, A16, A17, M1, M2, M3. This thing is about seven generations behind. Surprised the price is $50 yet for something so old.

Thanks - missed the tax free AAFES deal so this at least covered the tax for the item.

yeah it's crazy that apple consumers are blind to this logic. I owned this gen ipad about a year ago before I resold it because it constantly crashed running apps [i def feel like it was the lack of ram]. but, if someone wants an ipad , this is definitely decent value for an ipad.. but if someone is able to use logic, the hardware in this is very very limited. imo, the 9th gen shouldn't exist.. and this ipad should be around $230 on sale rn.. and even then I, personally, wouldn't pay more than $170~ for it. going into 2024.. we'll be seeing 256GB storage being the base model for most things, except for apple, ofc.
