After gasoline and then eBay fees and the eBay cut after selling... Even if you sell this on Facebook marketplace, wow you just turned $100 into $200 and it cost you way more than $100 worth of your time, unless it's worthless, to complete.

After fees and shipping you won't make much. Rather sell it local on Facebook marketplace

The profit margin is too little to be sustainable even with bulk order that retailers, like Target, likely not approved the purchase. Understandably it a passive income which requires spare time to even stay afloat or be ahead. i'm positive he is hunting for similar discounted popular items to stay ahead of the competition, especially between November-January. He knows that in order to make $ he gotta spend more $. It calculative risk strategy.

I know this because I for example used to be that guy hunting items here in SD to flip as a hobby/passive income for a long time. I stopped altogether because it got unstable, redundant, and I'm getting older as there is more to life than relying too much passive income to make me happy. Making few $ effortlessly on the side is one thing however the drive to do much more hunting which inevitably requires time ain't gonna last 4ever. No security either unlike delivery service like Instacart which arguably has more appeals.
