Eley products are not for everyone but if you care for high quality watering tools, it doesn't get much better. Also, to my knowledge, Eley products very rarely go on sale or get discounted.

As a casual gardener, over about 10 years I went through 4 reels. 1 was plastic, the others steel. They were all not cheap, but they ultimately were all absolutely crap. Each lasted 2-3 years. The steel ones, even an expensive powder coated model from AM Leo, all rusted out and fell apart. I tried many different designs.
Eley was the only one made with ALL aluminum and brass. Paid a LOT for it (4-wheel hose cart with no-flat wheels) but after the last ~10 years it's still in near perfect condition, no joke. As long as Eley remains all aluminum, I will never buy another brand, assuming this beast ever wears out!
They did not sell hoses when I bought my reel, so I cannot speak to those.

Every component of the reel is quality. I paid full price 4 years ago, and it's worth every penny
And FWIW they aren't flawless, but the company stands behind everything. One year we got a leak in one of the hose reels. I send a photo to Eley and they promptly sent replacement parts, free of charge.
Another time, one of the quick-connects started "sticking." It wasn't operating smoothly and was getting tough to attach/reattach (which is kind of the point of a quick connect). Again, Eley sent a replacement free of charge.
Eley products are definitely in the "buy once" category.
I've never sprung for the polyurethane hoses, but it's tempting. I have rubber hoses and have gotten pretty facile with annual repairs.
I have been happy with my commercial grade continental hose but need a longer size so in for the Eley hose too.
