For those having trouble seeing the deal...

If you are an active subscriber / canceled within the past 30 days, then you'll need to logout and create a new account.

Yup! After you pay the 99 cents, you'll be taken to an add-on page and that's where you add the Disney+ subscription for $2.

Thanks. I just posted that question about Privacy. Guess we still don't know if Hulu will actually accept Privacy as payment. I am waiting a little longer to sign up.

This screen casting: What browser and ad blocker are you using? I use YouTube an unconscionable amount on my TV and also just happened to get Max when I just upgraded my Cricket wireless account.

Although there's a lot of news lately about YouTube and ad blockers.
I can confirm both:
1) Hulu charge went through
2) uBlock chrome browser extension blocks ads, then can cast to wherever you want. no ads!

Is Hulu on the apartheid boycott list? Seen conflicting reports.

don't add sdisney plus. Disney plus ends next month and will be replaced by a combined Hulu/Disney plus service. If you opt for the add on now, you'll be paying for an add on that no longer exists and if you cancel it, you also cancel the hulu promo price.
Interesting , so what if I want Disney Plus , should I wait for next month or will it be included with the 99 cents deal ?

All national tv is free with an antenna, and they use to produce way more episodes of programming than the standard 10 episodes these channels produce. Charging anything, even .99 cents a month, is a ripoff in my book if you are watching ads.
Not sure if adding "national" to this is what's causing me to disagree (?), but the only channels here that are free with an antenna are at best about 9 channels (2 through 13. A few are the same exact channel/programming, like 4 & 12 are both Fox). You get like a PBS channel & channels that aren't worth watching in my experience. Sure, u get a few sports games on the weekends, but i only watch MMA, so that's meaningless for me.

In my city, there's no opportunity to get free channels that have things i care to watch, especially on demand, where i don't have to hope there's something on i can tolerate when i have the time & desire to watch TV. There's no FX, 24 hour news, TBS, TNT, Disney, Nickelodeon, Paramount, etc available for free here.

To each his own, ofc. I understand some people not wanting to subscribe. There's nothing wrong with that, but saying there's no value here for anyone is inaccurate, IMHO. Without ads is definitely better/more value than with ads. It's hard to go back to watching ads once u have streamed without them, but the on demand alone is worth .99 cents to me, & add on the ability to watch programs/channels that aren't available without a cable subscription (or a subscription of some kind, like fubo, etc) makes this worthwhile.

Now, if u argue that u can get enough on demand shows from other free streaming channels, like crackle, freevee, filmrise, etc, that's a much better argument, IMO, but depends upon a person's taste. When arguing that free programming with an antenna can compete with on demand streaming, which is the case here, that's not even a close competition in my experience (at least in Texas, where there's only 2-13 available for free with an antenna, as I've tried several brands of antenna, which claim they can get channels up to 100 miles. It's possible this depends upon location, but i live in a city with 200k people, not some backwoods town in the middle of nowhere, so I'm not sure how much that matters).

Apparently you can't use same CC or same email which you used for Hulu or Disney plus previously

any recommendations for suckers like me who just got charged something like $145 for 12 months of Disney no ads? Not sure I can even cancel and get money back.

I see a lot of complaints on the Hulu with ads but not a lot of complaints on the Disney+ with ads aside from odd ad placement, does anyone have a good summary on the Disney+ with ads experience?

Thanks

It wouldn't make sense for Disney to keep charging for a Disney+ addon that doesn't exist...

If they do end up stopping Disney+ service then I'd think it's more likely either the add-on fee will go away as well or everyone who has both will be transferred over to the combined service, if it happens

-------------------------------------

Further reading on this, there's no mention of either service discontinuing. What's happening is Disney is releasing a new app that combines both services. That's not the same thing as discontinuing Disney+. It just means if you use an app to access each service, you will be able to use one app for both services.

Also next month is the beta, the actual release of the combined app is Spring 2024

It is. They have details on their site of how it works. As far as I understand it, when you add it to your Ad-Skip Queue it "watches" the episode in the background, making it legal. You have to wait about 40 min or so after adding before it's ad-free.
HULU newbie here. Their website says "unlimited DVR". Is that different from a regular DVR? I am able to zap through commercials on my DVR. Wouldn't Hulu shows be the same?

What the hell. Waited all month for this deal to finally show, and I can't access it no matter what I try. Logged out, used several different emails (old Hulu accounts), cancelled my current Hulu account, no account will let me remove my devices, UGH!

I keep getting a "Forbidden 403" error when trying to claim the deal through the GMA link.

Help!
