Just say no. Don't give Zazlov the subscriber #s he so desperately needs. He is destroying the business.

It looks like I'm not eligible for this pricing if I'm a current subscriber...

Meh. I still can't believe they changed away from the HBO branding. Unforced turnover. Wake me up when they put out series on par with Boardwalk Empire or Sopranos, just to name a couple.
Agreed - I never heard of Max until now and assumed it was Cinemax which most people think of as "not quite HBO" along with something like Starz (and 'm not knocking Starz, they have some great shows like Black Sails and Spartacus).

For sure, Black Sails and Spartacus were good. I tried to get into American Gods but it never hit right for some reason. Now there is nothing on Starz and not worth it unless you can get the 99 cents a month offer they will throw out at times.

You see I want this, but I am not going to support the current status quo of Warner Brothers. May we find each other again on the other side.

I really wish I could find a discount on the ad-free Max, but this sure beats paying $9.99. So much excellent content on Max!
i cancelled my max and they offered me 3 months at half price for the ad free.

I will never understand willfully giving a streaming company a penny if they are going to be ad-based. I pay for ad-free or I don't pay at all and live with the ads.

How bad and/or frequent are the ads?
This is a point in time question. What ever it is today doesn't mean it's not going to change tomorrow.
Personally I have the ad free version and love it.

Hulu rant: I have ad supported Hulu and it's annoying on certain shows and non existent on others. The shows that have ads have the same 3 ads each break. Super annoying if you are binging a series and watching 3+ episodes at a time.

You forget that on Hulu the ads are like 999 times the volume. So you are watching a show at 30 volume and then all of a sudden Hulu pops an ad up at 70 volume. It's ridiculous.

MAX ads don't have that issue, and are pretty short in comparison to most other ad based streams. However, when watching Doom Patrol, they had ads cut into some important scenes where it really messed up my immersion into the show. So I changed to ad free. If you aren't bothered by that though, MAX is one of the best ad-based experiences.

I had HBO forever and for a long time $15/month was honestly underpriced. Now, I look at Max and ask myself is it worth $3/month? Maybe....probably not.

Can confirm. I was going to cancel and do the e-mail address shuffle to get this deal, but they offered it to me as well during the cancellation process. Made it easy.
