So two part deal, firs you have to buy the gift cards on sale at Newegg and then purchase from the Microsoft store.
Newegg is currently selling gift cards for the Xbox store -
https://www.newegg.com/microsoft/...ce-options
$88 for $100
$63 for $70
$54 for $60
$45 for $50
The Microsoft store currently has the Forza bundle for $450-
https://www.xbox.com/en-US/consol...n-5-bundle
Or the Diablo version for $440-
https://www.xbox.com/en-US/consol...-iv-bundle
Note that the gift cards do not have tax, you will have to pay tax for your state when you purchase from the Microsoft store. So for mine I bought 4 $100 cards at $88 and one $70 at $63 to cover the price and the tax, total was $419.74 after tax for the Forza bundle/$410.19 after tax for the Diablo one (5.5% WI tax).
Also, Microsoft store will price match until January 31, 2024 if any better deals come out

$450 with $75 Target gift card back is probably better than $397, especially since with Target Red Card or Discover you'd get 5% back at Target right now.
But for those that can't buy from Costco or Dollar General, this is not a bad deal.

Is costco for sure offering 20% off giftcards this week?
I haven't seen it yet for this week. But based on previous deals, they do it throughout the year, multiple times.
So far Dollar General is the cheapest option

I posted that deal last year and got downvoted into oblivion for "being too many steps" unfortunately
They don't say how long the Microsoft deal is going to last. Costco only lets you buy $400 worth of gift cards @$320+50 to get to $450 for a total of $370 pre-tax so it does beat this deal if you have Costco and if they do that deal this week. I have been waiting forever for that deal Dollar General beats it for sure if you have that option, $360 pre-tax. But IIRC you have to go instore and they have to have them in stock?
Yes it has to be in store and some stores only accept cash for these gift cards which can be a pain
TBH, it's couple of extra steps to redeem the gift card to your Microsoft account. 20% off is worth those extra steps IMO.
Still a couple of days til BF...newegg still hasn't put out an Xbox deal and either has amazon.
