This may not be a common deal, but the SVD is the only company I know who makes RLCD monitor. It seems like they are doing a Black Friday promotion of their monitors.
I work remotely and spend most of my times starring at the monitor (writing codes, reading/writing papers, etc.)
As I get older in age, I got interested in investing on some eye friendly displays and thought about purchasing an eink monitor, but read not so great reviews of them.
I read about the RLCD technology from one of the reddit posts, and did some further research about the technology (summary: many positive reviews).
Despite the cost, it may be worth of money in a long term for protecting my eye sights. Yes, its resolution is quite limited (1080p), but I don't intend to play games with it. I also prefer to work from home.

Want to reduce eye strain?
1. Take breaks.
2. Get a prescription (if you need one) that has good focus at the distance you're reading at. My optometrist doesn't give me a prescription for maximum distance. He gives one that's good for closer work.
3. Set the brightness to a comfy level.
4. Blink more often.
5. Make sure there's not a lot of glare on your monitor.
6. Get a large screen across the room.
7. Stop reading reddit and watching youtube.
I've been 8-14 hours of screen time a day for... geeze... 40+ years. I have a terrible prescription that started when I was a little kid. Mostly genetic. Partly maybe not enough sunlight. Hard to say. Interestingly, for the past five years, my prescription keeps getting a bit less awful. I used to be worse than -8 diopters. Now I'm at -7.
